I personally don't think we need to use 20 products at a time on our faces.....I can just envision my facial skin rolling it's eyes and saying to me (as I slather on yet another product)........NOW WHAT??? I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!! Really though, do you feel that we're just throwing too much at our poor faces and expecting immediate results and all we're getting is a big fat nothing?

Yes, I do! My skin just can't take layer upon layer of products with such strong active ingredients. Starts out fine, but by week two my skin is dry, flaky, red, irritated and just plain ticked off.
Retin A, Vit. C, Vit. E, sunscreen, and a super rich night cream, and I'm done.

I, like you, have whittled it down to just 2 or 3 things, but at one time, I was trying anything I could get my hands on........I just had to remember that my skin is a living organ and throwing too much at it can throw it into chaos........I do believe in a good serum, sun protection, and moisture of some kind, but beyond that......I don't think it does much good.

I definitely think we overload are faces and many times one product negates the intended results of another. It seems to me when philosophy was owned by Cristina Carlino she would come on air for the presentations with new products to replace and simplify what we were using eliminating products to our routine. We certainly do not hear that in any presentations nowadays. Less is more.

YUP. I am not buying any Perricone stuff. So expensive and I find I am just using the occasional retinol PM or a pad of some sort and argan oil. That's it.

YES! YES! I realized this a while back, and cut down, and my skin is no worse. I just recieved Shiseido bioperformance serum as a gift, and hate it! Why? Another layer that's not getting absorbed, and causing my blush to litterally roll off. I looked in a mag. mirror and saw all pink pills...soooo embarrassing. I'm just saying, I really feel one or two good products that work for you, is enough! Try, and you'll see. Your skin will be fine!

I simplified my act a long time ago:
Cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer.
I make sure my daily moisturizer has an spf.
I have limited my caffeine, drink lots of water, eliminated all junk and processed foods, and my skin looks better than ever. I actually got a compliment from my doctor the other day.

I use an AM/PM cleanser and anti-aging AM/PM moisturizer with a PM serum. That's it. I try to use a system for at least a year before switching too. Constantly switching brands after a month or so doesn't help your skin either. I do believe in buying products from the same company as well. Some don't believe it helps but I do. I use all Skinn products and my skin looks pretty good for 58.
Make-up is a different story. LG, Benefit are in my make-up bag. Along with Pur concealer and ybf anti-redness powder.
