China is a COMMUNIST country. Big difference from socialism....

China has long had questionable gaps in their safety regulatory systems.
Companys get their products made there because it's so cheap to do so. It's so cheap because they cut corners and aren't regulated. Chinese made products from toothpaste to drywall to baby formula have been recalled for containing toxic even radioactive ingredients.
