I decided to go back and try a sponge again. I tried beauty blender many years ago and liked it, but didn't feel like it was a good value. Also, at the time, I felt like my makeup brush did a better job and didn't absorb any of the foundation.
Now that I am getting older, I am wondering if a sponge might be better than a brush or fingers. There are so many sponges out there now, at all different prices.
Thanks Ladies!

Beauty blender works for me. They are expensive so only purchase when they are on sale.

I use Beauty Blender - which I know you've tried - but only buy when they are on sale. I do know that ELF has some good sponges so they may be worth trying.

These 2 are my favorites. I like the SK just a tiny bit more.

I really like Beauty Junkees Black Contour Makeup Blender Sponges, I like that one side has a flat edge and the other a point. I have been using them and giving them away to friends and family for years. They wash and hold up well. I like them much better than any other sponge I have tried. I just went and ordered another 4 pack.
Edited to add: I get them on Amazon

@Swedishmiss - I use a damp Real Techniques sponge. You can find these at Walmart and many other locations. Inexpensive and the result is an air brushed look.

Don't laugh, but I just found a package of Beakey sponges that I forgot I had. I looked at my orders on Amazon and they are from 2019! 🤦♀️ There are four in the package so I obviously used one. I'm going to try using a sponge again. I need to find a case to keep it in when not in use,

I follow an influencer who taught me to apply foundation with a round dense brush. Now I have a lot of unused beauty blenders. I will try to use them for other things.
Anyway, the Sephora brand has excellent foundation brushes.
