I personally don't want it in my personal care products. I am surprised to see it in beauty products on the Q , such as the TSV , as much as they preach Clean Beauty. Obviously the Johnson and Johnson law suit proved it is a problem. You can't even buy baby powder any more. I think it is just lazy not to reformulate , when there are alternatives. Of course i might be in the minority. Ant thoughts ?

The main problem with Tale, as in the J&J baby powder case is that it can often be contaminated with asbestos.
High quality talc is filtered and free of asbestos.
The other problem with the baby powder case was breathing it in - when people poufed it all over in a cloud, they breathed it in - not good. That is true of any powder make up.
The most luxurious face powders have talc in them. Most non-talc powders are heavy and lack the lightness that talc has. The only one I personally know of that has a lovely consistency and no talc is Jane Iredale's powders.

I don't know enough about it in my makeup to know if I should care or not.
As for personal care powder, I've been using this for years and years. It's the powder I used on my daughter in the early 1980s and my grandbabies.

Never cared for talc but absolutely stopped buying anything with talc skin care, makeup, ect, only use clean beauty, and cruelty free. Never buy from companies who test on animals, sell products to countries who test on animals.

No. Because I've use such a minimal amount to of any concern my entire life.
Think BB cosmetics did away all talc with and reformulated ALL of their items no w/o talc.
It seems to look like they have maybe 2 items still up online with talc. One day as I was curious as to why they had a huge ongoing sale? Then saw it was talc being taken out of their products... this took place like 3 years ago or so maybe more.
My dad powdered himself up in lieu of a bath many days and lived until 94. It looked like snow in his bathroom, my poor mom used a diff BR lol. True! I'm not embellishing. I was worried being in the know about breathing in so much in can be bad. He was fine and smelled like a baby.

Talc dries out my skin. Makes my skin look wrinkly and old so I don't use it.

Yes, I do care. I do not want it in my makeup....I won't purchase powders with talc in them.

I don't care if talc is in my makeup because it is a small amount. Regarding the J&J lawsuit, the person was putting the powder in her underwear for decades. I agree that J&J should have had a cancer warning on the packaging and it is very sad what happened to that woman. But if you are pouring on any product in that open area of the body day after day for many years and held close up by underwear, how can you not be aware that it's going to migrate up and in, a product that's intended for the outside of your body not the inside.

I do my best to avoid it. Talc is drying, can cause itching and irritation. In powdered foundation and eyeshadow, IMO, it sits on top of the skin and leaves a dry, powdery finish. Aside from how it behaves, talc is a cheap bulking ingredient. Many makeup companies use it yet still charge high prices for their products. That's annoying.

I've never been a "body" powder user. In makeup, I don't even think about it.
