Re: Do people ever comment on your fragrance?

Ok I have two more stories on Desert Youth I forgot about last night.  We had a mix of boys and girls on our block and we would put together sports teams out on the street sometimes after school. Like baseball.

So we got to chatting about this one woman who lived on the block and one boy said WOW, have you ever been to Mrs. .....  house?  There is a sweet sort of smell in there which could blow us all up and send us flying into outer space it stinks so bad!!  Of course I snuck up to her house and it was Youth Dew!Woman LOL

And lastly here is the worst, a hard one for me.  I had a friend a middle aged woman, I was 18 and we worked on the same floor.

Yes, I was very stupid and at 18 was engaged to be married against everyone's wishes.  He was at Universiity of Miami but it must have been some type of first love like Natalie Wood, Wartren Beatty in "Splendour in the Grass".

No one could stop us as much as they tried we were of legal age.  So I had the white dress, rehearsal dinner. Wedding was in a church and we had the reception at my Mother in laws home.

Here it comes.  My friend from the office was quite a flashy woman, liked leopard prints but had to be invited and guess what her scent was?

YOUTH DEW!!!Woman EmbarassedWoman LOL  And she really could drink.  Yet a heart of gold.

So before the wedding I kindly asked her to please not wear any heavy perfume as some of the family were highly allergic. It was a good idea. Thank God she listened and did not wear it to my wedding day.  Everyone would have been blown away if she had.  My last youth Dew story but a traumatic one for me as she was so sweet and kind. lol.

Some people don't like heavily-scented women, probably more than you think.  Maybe that's why no one comments to you.

Are you talking to me? If so, I'm never heavily-scented   I do an air spray and walk through to apply my fragrances

I think Youth Dew was the stongest scent I had ever come in contact with back then. I didn't like it-still don't. I like Emeraude before they changed it and my mom wore Tabu I really liked ( on her). I loved Shalimar but not on me, darn. Mom said my perfumes were all too sweet. I wore Toujour Moi for a while. Now people turn up their noses if you wear ANYthing. It was fun while it lasted.

I forgot about the dental hygienist complimenting my fragrance when I was having my tooth filled.  I was wearing Kayali Musk 12.  And when I was in another room, two girls commented to each other, how much they liked my fragrance.

When Cristina owned Philosophy and Amazing Grace and Pure Grace were the REAL THING,  I wore them and got compliments many times over.  Since the brand changed, I only wear the body cream and once in a blue moon I get noticed.  It just is not the same.  SOOOO sad!!!!

Re: Do people ever comment on your fragrance?

Not once since Philosophy was sold to Coty. I used to wear falling in love, unconditional love, and pure Grace.

  I constantly received compliments.

Since the post Coty sale, when I wear them, no one, and I mean, no one, gives a compliment. I've even had people take a step or two away from me.

I've asked people what they thought of my fragrance.

They get a puzzled look on their faces and say, I can't tell you're wearing anything.

Sometimes I had answers such as yes, but it smells like alcohol or a chemical.

And those experiences are with falling in love, unconditional love, and pure grace, all formulations of those fragrances.

I believe they're doing away with unconditional love, at least the 3in1, as it's been going on three years since I've had an auto ship delivered.. It keeps saying it's shipped, and the next day it gets canceled.

That was one of the few 3-in-1s that most resembled, and I'm being generous by saying, most resembled, the pre-COTY sale. Most smell too chemical, or the scent is barely there.

Re: Do people ever comment on your fragrance?

I'm going to experiment a little- will spritz a bit of perfume on myself before going to bed in a little while. Maybe a light spray on the clothes I plan to wear to my ladies Bible study in the morning. We will see if anyone notices.
