I use a brush to apply my makeup but I'd like to try a gourd sponge applicater.

Anyone else use sponge to apply liquid and/or cream makeup? What brand do you use?

Beauty Banter. It is the best by far. The various knock offs are no where near as good.

Beauty Blender sponges. Wayne Goss of Facebook fame says there's no difference between Beauty Blender and the knock-offs.

I use for slightly heavier cream foundations to help make it more sheer on the skin. This isn't the most popular method for using. There's multiple ways the BB can apply foundation / concealer on skin.

for me it depends on the foundation I'm using, cream, liquid, powder. I prefer the beauty blender above all else but I also have the tarte foundation brush which works well with some foundations, and I recently purchased the BM serum foundation, the brush works for that foundation. And sometimes it's just fingers. Also, I think there is a difference between the knock offs of the beauty blender, I have the original and tried two different sponges like it. The dupes seem to be heavier and denser and don't give as much "bounce" as the beauty blender. I think it's worth the investment.

I've never liked using sponges. Tried a few time without much success. I too prefer brushes and find they offer better control applying the product.

I use a Beauty Blender style sponge that came with an It Cosmetics foundation. I apply all my liquid/cream foundations with it and it really helps them go on more smoothly and I have to use less product. I put some on the back of my hand, dab some on the sponge and pat it around my face and it really looks more natural and airbrushed (I think).

I have some small sponge wedges that I use every now & then. Otherwise I use my fingers.

I don't use a sponge, but I want to try the Beauty Blender. It's on my "to buy" list.
