Do You Have A Makeup Haul Regret?

Mine has got to be the Too Faced HSN Today's Special Chocolate Bar Palette and a Once Only palette from last January. I got it home, but didn't really use it until past the point where I could return it. I am over 60, and this line of cosmetics, with it's sparkly, dark colors is definitely targeted towards much younger girls and women. I really didn't notice during the presentations because the models were in their 30's and 40's, and I couldn't detect how much glitter was in the eyeshadows until I saw it up close. I spent over $75 on the kits, and I force myself to use the few matte shades every once in a while, but I don't like the look I get from them. I have been tempted to just toss them in one of the Goodwill bins around town so if someone wanted to use them they could.

I am there with you on the sparkly stuff - only for younger people - they need to make more matte pallettes. The IT CC illumination is horrible! You don't notice it until you go outside and it looks like you've been handling christmas decor all day.

Whenever I buy a drugstore lipstick I wind up disappointed. I don't think I ever found one that I really like so I really should stick to the better brands that work for me.

I agree, except for Revlon's Pink In The Afternoon. It was always a perfect color on me, and it is the one lipstick, drug or department store, that I buy over and over again. BTW, I did get a couple of lipsticks in the Too Faced kits, and they smelled like candy - ghastly! What more proof can there be that they are targeting their products for girls/women under 30?

Recently? No. I learned some valuable, very expensive lessons ordering kits years ago.

To Too Faced's defense - I do think they put natural cacao (sp?) in their products to color them, hence the chocolate/candy smell. I love their Bulletproof Brows.

The cacao in the eyeshadows doesn't bother me, but the lipsticks have an artificial fruity lollipop or gumdrop smell.

I regret thread IT Cosmetics naturally pretty shadow pallet and IT Cosmetics liner pencils. Both are bombs for me. The shadows feel cheap ,have lots of fallout ,and don't last. The liners smudge and slide. I love the lip liners from IT.

I admit, I'm terrible when it comes to lipsticks. I'm forever buying them in search of a perfect shade and then I end up with a bunch I don't use. I can't remember ever using a single one to the bottom of the tube.
