I do like unboxings to a degree, I get to see new products that Vloggers got in a promo package from a company. Yesterday I watched 17 minutes of Tati and her husband James ( a very attractive couple) unboxing a bunch of free stuff she received. I just felt like it was bragging on her part, she titled the video free stuff. Out of everything she received only one product ( she already had it) would be in a give away.

Back in the day it was called opening packages.  Me, I personally do not understand anyone making video's of them opening packages let alone anyone watching it.  And I have never heard of these people.  So I would have to say no I really dont like opening the packages I enjoy whatever is in them.

If you like it however enjoy!

They can be fun.  It reminds me of going to a party or a shower. I have received some cool, stuff that has been given to me by a few makeup artist friends. I am good with it!

When I used to subscribe to Fun, Fit and Fabulous I used to the videos. Now I do not care for them

I am definitely not into these unboxings, aka commercials.  However they are going nowhere as kids youtube channels do the same thing for toys and sadly, beauty (there is literally no need for a 9yo to have a vitamin c or face mask beauty box😢) This just another version of a commercial, as these "influencers" are sent free products to promote. Young people hardly watch actual TV so companies have to find other methods to get a promotion out there, be it for toys, makeup, clothing, hobby related items, etc.

I enjoy watching people open actual gifts that I gave them to see their reaction, particularly surprise unexpected "just because" gifts.  It is just the job of the influencer to unbox and comment, and I don't follow them or their recommendations.

@Jordan2   I watched several videos like that a few yrs. ago. Since they receive the makeup, skincare, etc. as PR, it's expected that they promote the items on air.

I don't like hearing their comments hoping to receive more products from those companies and sometimes they are actually making a percentage for items sold from the presentation. I can make decisions of what I want to purchase for myself without their hawking products.

I don't care for those videos at all. Seems like a money grab. "Look at me and what I get free!" Obnoxious.

Only when I'm the one doing the unboxing.

Why that would be fascinating is beyond me.
