Do I need to wear loose clothing after applying faux tanner?

I am thinking it could very easily rub off onto tighter fitting clothes like jeans. Is that likely to happen? How about wearing a white top after applying faux tanner? I don't want to ruin my clothes, but I am anxious to use my faux tanner. Any suggestions or experience? Thanks!
