RnKristine, welcome! I'm slightly confused by your posting style (please forgive me). Why do you quote yourself by posting a seemingly unrelated adage? You did this on another thread, as well.

Strange, eh?

So you noticed it, too - before it was deleted?

Yup, and on another thread as well.

I saw it too. Odd it has been deleted since it wasn't against standards, strange for sure but not poof-worthy.

Very strange indeed. As you said, it didn't violate standards - it was just odd.

This is a common ingredient in almost every hair conditioner and CC. For instance, in Nick Chavez's new Velvet Mesquite this is in his conditioner:

Velvet Mesquite Conditioning Cream Hydrolyzed Wheat
Water(Aqua), Cetearyl Alcohol, Kaolin, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cyclopentasiloxane,
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Polysorbate 60, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Benzophenone-4,
Dimethicone, Dioscorea Villosa (Wild Yam) Root Extract, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Honey,
Protein, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Hydrolyzed Milk Protein, Juniperus Communis Fruit Extract, Lawsonia
Inermis (Henna) Extract, Lithium Magnesium Sodium Silicate, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Panthenol,
PEG-75 Lanolin, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Propylene Glycol, Prosopis Velutina (Mesquite Bean)Extract,
Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Simmondsia
Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Methylparaben,
Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Propylparaben, Fragrance(Parfum), Blue 1 (CI
42090), Red 4 (CI 14700), Yellow 5 (CI 19140).

There is a real myth surrounding the so-called "dangers" of dimethicone.

OK, so you have a point, but dimethicone is a common ingredient in conditioners because silicones add shine to the hair ie....Pantene!

SO, why don't you ask him on his Facebook page where lots of people are out there to answer that question.

As for her signature.....why not?!?!?! It is Easter soon.

I wasn't asking about her signature line. OP (or someone) deleted her follow up post, which is the one that I was confused about. (Nothing to do with Easter, btw.) OP did the same thing on another thread that I have been following.

So that does explain a bit about why I didn't think Happy Easter was strange. I would like to have read it. Oh well.

LOL, it had nothing to do with the thread or with her original question - so you didn't miss anything!

It is still there if you are referring to "Be kind; for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."

But all the thinning hair and hair growth shampoos and/or conditioners I've seen, Nioxin, keranique, etc, all contain dimethicone so if there was truth to that statement, why would shampoos/conditioners to help hair loss contain it?

Because even thinning hair needs shine....I really don't know other than that since I'm not a chemist. Silicones are used for shine and sleek hair, which is why it is in so many different products. So from Google:

It also provides a protective cover on skin, which is supposed to help keep moisture in, leaving skin hydrated for longer. In hair care products, dimethicone is used to provide smoothness, particularly in conditioners and detanglers, where the ingredient helps smooth hair and provide better comb-through.

OP used a different one here, although I don't really remember what it was. I enjoy reading adages, but I was confused about the context in which she used them (particularly because she is responding to herself).

yes, I agree and I do know why it is added to products but OP was indicating it can cause hair loss so I was asking if that were true (I have not found any real scientific studies indicating that this is true), why would hair loss/thinning product contain it. Kind of a rhetorical question, to give the OP food for thought and hopefully do more research beyond a google search to see if her statement is factual. Dimethicone is in the good majority of shampoos and/or conditioners.
