Re: Different mascara colors

The most adventurous I ever got ,was a dark/black purple 💜

Which surprisingly looked good with my green eyes

Now ,I like a black/ brown

Black looks too harsh on me ,possibly because I'm very fair !

Re: Different mascara colors

I don't know about now but many years ago, I wore blue and purple mascaras.  Since I had dark hair and dark eyes,  the theory was colored mascara brightened my eyes.

Re: Different mascara colors

I wear navy mascara and have for over 25 years.  I sometimes wear brown/black or black mascara as well.  Loved the Chanel navy mascara and wore it for many years.  I have blue/gray eyes.

Re: Different mascara colors

I love colored mascara and have worn it in the past.

My favorite was a Dior light golden bronze that was a summer limited edition. I kept hoping they'd bring it back, but they never did.

Some years ago I had a MAC deep burgundy. It looked great with my hazel eyes.

I've worn navy and green in the past too.

I don't think this purple or green would work for me. And I wouldn't even try the pink one!  Smiley Wink

[ Edited ]

In my 30's and 40's I've tried them and liked them for fun. They were a subtle way to bring out the color of your eyes, either by being a similar shade or a contrast shade. I have blue/green eyes...I had tried green and a deep dusty purple. They weren't gaudy or garrish. Just a subtle shade of tint.

I might still try them if I felt like it, even on an older eye, but these days I tend to like a little "less is more" with color (actually I always did prefer a neutral eye) and love neutral eyes. I do pop both aqua green in my water line, and a steel gray/green old Mally liner I found in my stash recently, under my eye. That gives my eye color a nice, subtle highlight.

@San Antonio Gal I haven't read through your thread yet...would you try, have you every done, these colored type mascaras?

Re: Different mascara colors

Pink or green??  No way I could wear those.  Maybe the one called Margo for something different.  I used to wear dark blue occasionally.  Now, I wear dark brown when I wear any at all.
