Good for you. I did that years ago and it is a very freeing feeling. There comes a point in time when your belongings own you. I do the same thing with my closet. I keep what works and what I need in all things.

I just cleaned out my makeup cupboard (yes, an entire cupboard - I'm that bad). Shelves of it. I just couldn't stand it any more and I reorganized so I can get to everything that's left. I admit to throwing out things I hadn't even opened. I remembered what I read somewhere by some "clutter control expert" - she said the money is gone. You can't get it back, but you can get back control of your life.

A lot of things I got in kits, so there'd be one or two things I wanted or use but others that I don't. But you know what it's like; the price of the entire kit is less than a couple of individual pieces. I did give several things to my SIL, who was very pleased.

I'm going to work through what I have and not buy another thing until I absolutely need it. Like expatgal - NEVER AGAIN!

As to my clothes closet.....no, sorry, my heart couldn't take that right after the makeup cupboard!
