Re: Did Anyone hear Nick Chavez say that he gets beat up on the blogs?

Quite a few people seem to think that Nick takes jabs at WEN.

In all fairness, Chaz has outright said that shampoo is bad for the hair, but no one thought he was taking a jab at Nick or any other vendors that sell shampoo and many agree with that. I respectfully disagree with Chaz Dean about shampoo being bad for the hair, but I also respect his philosophy on hair care and such.

Each vendor on QVC is just selling their own product with what they believe works. One time Nick was helping one of the vendors sell one the Beauty Discovery Kits. The kit included products from various beauty vendors on QVC, including Nick and Chaz. Nick went so far as to say, "if you want something sulfate-free, here's the WEN. We're all team players here."

Now, Nick already his own sulfate-free and paraben-free shampoo and condition (Advanced Plump 'N Thick) and he could've easily slipped in that he makes the same thing, too, but he didn't. So, I doubt that Nick was making jabs at WEN. For all anyone knows, Nick may have been referring to cheap shampoos that take many pumps to get a good lather.

Just my opinion (except the part about Nick saying "we're all team players," that actually did happen).

~Nick Chavez is my favorite vendor on QVC and Alberti Popaj is my favorite QVC host.~

I watched a portion of one product presentation and he definitely was taking jabs at WEN. There is no doubt about it. I heard it and watched for less than 3 minutes.

It is fair for him to do so considering the jabs WEN takes at shampoo and Nick sales shampoo.

see here is the thing- all you lovely ladies who just love and adore Nick apparently aren't buying his products any longer at the Q. You probably all found cheaper places to purchase. It is true that his stuff is sold in other stores and you can get much better deals. And you know the old saying ""money talks""...

So he can whine and complain and you all can whine and complain but the bottom line is numbers and profit for the Q...

I sense jealousy. QVC will reign him in if he crosses the line. ""Just loving"" someone isn't enough to keep them on air. ""Watching all the time"" isn't enough to keep someone on air. ""Buying"" is the way to keep someone on air.

The difference is that Chaz Dean is opposed to all shampoo, he doesn't single anyone out. whereas Nick is directly taking pot shots at Chaz Dean and his cleansing method even though Chaz isn't the first person who though of it. I can't say that I'm a big blog reader, nor am I much of a betting person, but if you want to stack up the personal attacks by people here, I'd lay money on Chaz as being the one who gets the most personal attacks. You never hear people saying things about Nick's hair, his persona, etc.

I think that when Chaz calls shampoo "detergent", that is taking a jab at all shampoos, in general...yes. But I can also see how each vendor of high quality shampoos wouldn't like it, and feel the need to respond.

How is that a jab when it's the truth? Part of the ingredient list of shampoo is detergent, no matter if it's a $1.00 bottle or a $30 bottle. Even the so-call sulfate free shampoos lather so there's still some level of detergent in them as well.

Well, if you want to get technical, yes this is true, but there are also a lot of other ingredients in most shampoos, including conditioning ones.

The word detergent is used just to leave customers with a bad impression of shampoo. Otherwise, Chaz would just refer to it as "shampoo".

I like Wen as a product...I bought the last TSV! But I also use "detergent". I'm not an all one vs. the other customer.

yes this! Honestly, if WEN was cheaper or the same savings elsewhere, I certainly wouldn't be buying it on QVC and I suspect most others wouldn't and then guess what, Chaz wouldn't be on so much either.

QVC is about profits and $$ not loyalty to a vendor or who they like best. Money is WHAT they like best. Make them big $$ and you will get more airtime. That is just the reality of it all. QVC is not an entertainment channel but a shopping channel. They are not going to forgo $$ in order to please the viewers that want to see someone more unless you are willing to open your wallet and support that person while doing so.

I agree with another poster that there is definitely some jealously going on and it is a bit sad. All vendors should just focus on selling their products and talking about what their products do, etc rather than taking pot shots at other vendors. I personally don't want to watch drama onair- I am watching to learn more about the products themselves.
