Recently I posted an inquiry regarding electrolysis and facial hair removal. I would appreciate comments for or against the Diamond Buff by Bee Stunning (assume it is still on market) for microdermabrasion. I recall seeing this item being sold on HSN or QVC.

I tried a version of this type of tool and it really did a number in my skin for a few days.  I truly overdid it and spent 2-3 days trying to soothe and repair my face.  If you decide to try it, apply only very light pressure and give your face a good rest between treatments. I tossed my tool and haven't regretted it.  I am sticking with glycolic acid and Retin A for exfoliation and an occasional Bliss scrub once in awhile. That's what works for me.

@Hilery it has been sold on hsn - there is one for the face and one for the body.  Both are showing sold out right now.  The reviews are mixed - as usual!  Some people loved and saw a positive difference, other people said it caused a lot of irritation to their skin.  You can go to hsn and type in bee stunning and they both should show up for you.

I own the Bee Stunning DiamondBuff for the body. I also own a Revlon Microdermabrasion Wand which is a dupe for the small DiamondBuff for the face. 

The body tool has changed the texture of my skin on my arms, legs and tummy. It has greatly reduced the crepey skin especially on my arms. I use it at least once every 2 weeks and sometimes more. It's a great tool. Just don't over-do it. 

The Revlon Wand is super effective and I can only use it once every few weeks. Some things to know about the facial tool...if you use Retin-A or exfoliate often with glycolic acid then be aware that the tool can  be more abrasive to your skin and it can leave it red and sensitive b/c the tool has removed too much of the skin's protective layer (the mantle). If that happens to you then it will take days and sometimes weeks for your skin to recover depending on how you treat it. Do not over-do it or press down aggressively. Gently sweep in one upward/outward direction while holding the skin tight. Do not use AHAs afterwards.

One other thing. These tools need to be cleaned regularly and thoroughly for them to work properly and without damaging the skin from excessive pressure. It needs to sparkle like diamond glitter for it to be effectively exfoliating. I throw mine in the dishwasher occasionally and that deep cleans them.

It depends on if you want permanent, or temporary removal.

Electrolysis removes the hair at the root - permanent.

D. Buff buffs off the hair at skin level, but it does grow back.

I bought the Bee Stunning from HSN.  At the time, I liked it.  I agree with the others advising to use it carefully.  It is basically a metal file on your face. 

I stopped using it because of some advice I received while getting a facial.  I can't remember exactly what the advice was.  LOL However, it was something about not using things that tear or tug the skin (waxing).  

I think if you do decide to try it, just keep it clean and be gentle.  Many people with good intentions accidentially over-exfoliate.  Been there.  Done that.  Had to wait for my skin to heal.
