Dermatologist tip about protecting lips

I have sun damage from being an Irish kid who loved to swim. I've had the thickening of my lower lip and had to get it frozen repeatedly. Finally my new-ish derm, a woman, told me that she learned in med school a highly pigmented lipstick is the best protection against UVA/UVB. You can see when it wears off, unlike clear spf balm. Thought I'd pass this along. My fave color is a deep berry that is similar to my natural pigment.
