TGIF. Got a load of clothes in dryer; then off to doc for DS's visit. Need to do some dusting and vacuuming around here. Ugh. Tomorrow I'm going out to eat w/some ladies--two are 'old' neighbors. Not sure how many others are going, they are friends with the one girl who moved to SC then to IL and is back so her girls can go to camp with my other friend's daughter. I think my friend from IL was doing a volleyball camp in GA this week, so that girl has dome some traveling!! I think after this weekend she may be heading down to visit her in-laws, too. And here i'm complaining about going to PA in Aug. DH's H.S. reunion is one weekend and the next is to be a family get together at 'the farm.' I'd rather stay w/my MIL than up at the homeplace. We'll see.

Another sunny day w/chance of rain. Next week is going to be so hot and youngest DS starts his job helping w/grounds-keeping. Poor kid. He'll be exhausted as work days are 6a-3:30p M-Th and Fri 6a-10a. It'll be good for him though.

Oh, the doc gave me a new eye drop designed I guess to help prevent scarring. I'm back on prednisone eye drop for my right eye (left eye will get surgery first). Well this new drop dilates my pupils. I'm supposed to use 2x/day, 1 in a.m., 1 in p.m. Well the d*ng thing lasts for 24 hours! I put in Wed. night and last night my eyes were still dilated. I'm still now sure this a.m. if they're still not a bit dilated. I had asked if I could just do at night on days I work so I could drive and work and she said ok, but I tell ya, one drop lasts over 24 hrs for me!

Have a good weekend. Prayers.

Re: Daily Chat, Fri., 6/27/14

Good morning ladies. Sunny and hot the next couple of days. I guess it's supposed to be above average temps next week for the holiday.

Bethee, enjoy your girls day out. Wish there was better news about your eyes. Hopefully DS can work in the shade next week. Be sure he has sunscreen, though knowing kids he probably won't want to use it. Is your MIL in an apartment now since it sounds like she is not in the old homestead.

Did the bedding this morning now I have to go see if I can find new mattress covers. I want the plastic ones that go around the whole mattress and zip closed. The old ones were so flimsy they ripped just trying to move the mattress.

Hi to all who stop in today. Have a great day.

Prayers

Howdy! I have a load of laundry on the line. I shelled some peas that I am using for creamed peas and potatoes tomorrow but today's menu was left overs.

I have some broccoli to chop and freeze in a little bit. Still battling the dreaded Poison Ivy but have not had to go to doc. Been using Benadryl cream and Ivy Dry to get rid of it. It has been a SLOW, itchy process for sure. I'll deal with it naturally unless it heads for the face and eyes.

Not much else. Going to visit family in a couple of weeks. It is also hubby's Navy reunion but he doesn't want to go this year since we are going to OK. I said we could go both places but he said it would be hard on the cats. (they probably don't care) I really wanted to visit with Bethee again at the Chinese place but maybe next year.

Work is calling so I 'd better get on out of here.

Blessings and waving to all.

Re: Daily Chat, Fri., 6/27/14

Good evening Ladies. Hot here too. Cleaning and laundry too! It never ends. DS still can't really eat. Glad the stuff will only be on his teeth 2-3 weeks. Bethee, hopefully your eyes will be healed. Have fun with your friends. Sunscreen and a hat for DS.... Sapphire, good luck finding the mattress cover. It is sometimes so hard to find exactly what you need.... Vmnsc, at least you got everything clean and put away. I bet it is really hot down there. It's hot here so I can only imagine how it is for you..... hellokitty, sorry about the poison ivy. DH and DS usually get it once a year. Not fun! The Ivy Dry is wonderful! Hope it's gone soon. I need to check the dryer now. Have a wonderful evening and weekend everyone! Prayers.

Re: Daily Chat, Fri., 6/27/14

Hi, ladies. Hellokitty, ivydry works great, and there is a Burt's Bee's (?) poison ivy soap that we keep around the house for whenever there's even a possibility that one of us got near that danged stuff. It's got something in it called jewel weed. I had poison ivy terribly on my hands once, and the naturalist at the State Park where I had a long-term project found some growing in the park, told me to make a tea with it, and when it was cool enough, soak my hands in it. The icky nasties went down considerably in a couple of hours, and after several treatments, it was almost gone.

Bethee, I agree - tell DS that sunscreen is not negotiable! I hope that the eye drops work out for you. Maybe as you acclimate you will not react as strongly.

V, welcome back! Don't work too hard and wear yourself out.

Karin, you're right - it never ends!!

Hugs and Blessings!
