Morning. Icy here. School was on a 2-hr delay then canceled. Saw DS out cleaning off his car and he was slipping on the driveway and sidewalk. Hope he made it to college and the parking lots & walkways there are 'clear' for students. Will go to mom's again to help. then I have things to do here.

I checked out last nights OTO, but I don't even remember what it was!! Anyone get it?

Prayers.

Re: Daily Chat, Fri., 1/10/14

Good evening ladies. Beautiful day here. Sorry some of you are still putting up with lousy weather. Looks like it's going to warm up for the weekend almost everywhere but rain for many.

Well my BIL finally saw his doctor today. BIL said he wouldn't do another surgery. In a way I can't blame him, he's only 53 and been going through heck for at least 6 years. It might be longer, can't keep track of time it goes so fast. Anyway they just braced his leg and he goes back in a week to see if it is mending. My DS said that he already fell once though going from the car to the house. MEN!

We don't have cable at the campground so didn't see any of the BE shows. I saw the posts about the newness but luckily nothing caught my eye.

Everyone have a good evening.

Prayers.

Re: Daily Chat, Fri., 1/10/14

Good evening Ladies! Well, it is warmer here, but the kids did not have school AGAIN! They did have class yesterday. As most of you may have heard on the news, WV has many counties with tainted water from a chemical leak. I think it is 9 counties. The leak started yesterday early. They didn't tell people until hours later to not use the water. Thankfully we are fine and our water is safe. We do live in one of the affected counties, just fortunate that a different company (PSD) supplies our water. Our town was crazy busy today. Our restaurants have the same water supplier as me. They were all swamped because we are the closest place with safe water. These poor people can't even wash their hands. Boiling it doesn't work. They aren't even supposed to touch it. No laundry. Only to flush a toilet and fight a fire. ..only bad thing about that is the chemical is combustible. My husband has to have a hazmat book for his job. Hopefully it won't be much longer for all of these poor people. We had our in laws over today to shower but they wouldn't stay the night. Sorry..didn't mean to ramble and complain..it just took soo long to say not to use the water. I think of all of the parents that mixed their baby's formula with tap water, all of the elderly taking their meds....grrrrrrr...

karin, I saw someone on FB post something about not being able to use their water, but didn't know it was that widespread. Good grief. Awful.

Hi, sapphire. You can say that again--MEN!. Hope he is healing.

Karin, I saw that on the news, and think it's horrible. Huge corporations can run things like coal mines, disregard safety issues, poison the water for 9 counties, and I'll bet they get a slap on the wrist. Awful!

Sapphire, I hope somebody has nice weather this weekend! We're supposed to warm up, but it's going to rain.

I got up this morning, looked out the front and it looked fine. Got out of the shower, and DH asked if I had looked outside. Well, while I was in the shower, it started with the freezing rain, so I emailed the boss that I was working from home. I emailed him about 11 that it looked like I would make it in, then watched my neighbor slip and slide down his driveway in his big SUV. Another email to the boss!

Karin, I hope things go well for your BIL. And, yes, MEN! Grrrr.

DH and I went to the office supply store, then Outback. I remembered that we needed cat food, so we went to the pet food store. DJ found a kitty perch on sale, so we ended up taking that home to replace the really ratty one that they've clawed to heck. So, a few office supplies really added up!

Blessings and prayers for all.

Oh, yeah, Bethee, the OTOs. They were both stuff you probably already have most of. Somebody asked what Boost Blush came in, and I actually know! It came in the "Bright Now" kit, which was a little kit that had Eye Bright in it. It's actually one of my go-to blushes, so I hope the ladies who got that OTO enjoy it. Really good values on the OTOs, but stuff I already mostly had.
