What part of you has the problematic crepey skin?

I have been a lotion/exfoliating lover most of my life....BUT I have never found anything that will make crepey skin disappear only mask it temporarily.  Genetics has to play a part in this unsightly (to me LOL) condition since I've seen it in my family.  Thank goodness my face is not lined with wrinkles..........JMHO.

This is what I was afraid of.  I just started noticing this issue with my own skin in the last 6 months of so (I'm 65).  I feel like I'm too young to be seeing this in my skin and thought it was something that wouldn't start until much later.  I've used moisturizers and lotions all my life.  Apparently that doesn't matter.  Sigh.

Most crepey skin is caused by sun damage but it isn't the only cause. Lack of moisture and weight loss are common causes. Any combination of those as well.

@SilleeMee   Thanks, I will take a look at that product.  She thought I should see results with about 3 months if I took collegan...that would be great, if it works.

Currently I am taking the bamboo extract daily in my coffee (wish it was not so gritty).  I am hoping my next bone scan will show good results from adding this to my diet.

thank you.

@SilleeMee   To answer your question, the skin on my hands looks creapy in the right light...kind of like crumpled tissue paper, smoothed out.

I do have skin damage on my hands, brown spots.  But the skin on my arms and legs has never been pretty.  I have never felt comfortable in shorts, shorter dresses, skirts, even when I was a young woman.

It is hard to describe but I never had the creamy skin that my friends had.

In response to what might help crepey skin, I have been taking powdered collagen by

Ancient Nutriion for the last year.   This brand contains about 5 different types of collagen.  I have been pleased with the results, but not as much as I hoped.

Then I remembered that because I have Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis my

body doesn't absorb nutrients like a normal person.  I decided to up my intake from

1 serving in the morning to 1 serving in the morning & one in the evening.   Boy did it

make a big difference!

The marionette lines on my face have lessened tremendously.   The chicken skin on the inner side of my upper arms is better & the skin on my legs is starting to look more toned also.  i am very pleased!  I don't normally use cream or lotion on my body, but I think I am going to make an effort to remember to do it each night so that it might help my skin look even better.   For me the Multi Collagen has been very helpful.

I feel collagen peptides make a huge difference. I add the powder to my almond milk
