Creme Blush...again

I have decided at the age of 54 to try a creme blush. This is all I hear and read to use for "mature" skin.

I don't want an oil-laden one since I still battle with combo skin.

Is there a good overall color than could go with different lipsticks and/or eye make-up? I tend to lean toward cooler shades, but can carry off some warmer shades.
