My dogs no our lingo too. If we say walk they both run to the front door. Biscuits, treats, bath, jeep, bread, leash,
and in and out and so many more! They are smart. I think it is because we spend so much time with them.
Brownies baking, one is sitting at the stove? You can't make it up. 😌
You should have seen our dog when we were cooking last night. It's why we celebrate holidays. The "feast" happens because of the dog. We just enjoy that dreamy look he has on his face when there's something roasting in the oven.
He watches everything we do and probably has every recipe in his head.

rnmom, My sisters are both nurses and they have seen a lot as I'm sure you know. In the mid eighty"s my sister was in the ER one night when a man came into the hospital with a broken leg .He had been out ,dancing. When they cut his pants off, they found a sausage in his pants. 😁 True story!
I'm not touching that one.

just bee, Leave it to me to go there! Needless to say my older sister is retired now. My younger sister still works. Waiting for retirement. The things that they see would not be up my alley. I was a volunteer candy striper though. I knew it wasn't for me. The good thing is they know who the good doctors are!
I'm a psych nurse. I always say that HIPAA is probably a good thing because I can't talk about work. It's good because no one would believe a word I was saying anyway.

@just bee -we have all of those dollar stores here too, but Dollar Tree is the only one that I usually go to because everything is actually $1. I love that store. I don't go there often, but when I do, I usually end up spending between $30-$40 because everything is, well, only $1! Definiely can be detrimental to my budget if I go there too often.
I spent my last Ulta gift card from Christmas yesterday, placed an online order because I had a $10 off $50 offer, plus some reward points to use. A few of the items I've used before and am re-ordering, cleanser, mascara, a glycolic mask, some are new items to try, serum, moisturizer, foundation, etc. I got a combination of makeup and skincare, 8 items all together. I didn't need any of it, but with all my discounts and gift card I got about $80 worth of products for only $5 on my credit card.
Plus now that my gift cards are gone I think the urge to shop will go away some. I've been doing a LOT of browsing online lately, even though I don't need anything, but I think I'll be less inclined to browse and shop and buy things I don't need if I'm actually PAYING for them. My last order was only 2 months ago, and I think I should be set for several months now without needing anything new.
The goal is to work on using some items up over the next few months before I order anything else. My original intention this year was to not buy anything at all that I didn't need, only replacements for necessary items, so that I could shop some of the after holiday sales this year and stock up. I've already placed 2 orders with Ulta because I had the 2 gift cards. So I will try to behave for a few months now.

Oh, how devious we are! It's okay to have things if we don't pay for them... That's why I have the Target gift card for donating blood. I was thinking I could get the Milani blushes and it wouldn't really count because I wasn't paying for them.
Gee, it's almost like shoplifting.
But the good news is that I haven't acquired those blushes. I managed to skip the Walgreens sale (there's also a current one, but not as good), yet they aren't completely out of my mind.
What's funny is that even with all the new blushes and shadows, I'm still trying to use up the old products. Now that LG Pink Grapefruit is the only blush left in the palette, I've discovered I really like it. Now I'm glad I bought the full-size blush. Just hope the color isn't too different in the new one (looks a little different).
Probably didn't need all the new blushes and shadows, but considering the prices... well, it was like shoplifting.
Speaking of which... you mentioned L.A. Colors at the dollar store and I've been perusing their website. Holy cannoli! I better stay out of those dollar stores! (Did they have any of those eye pencils?)
I've done a quick inventory and I think I can get through the rest of the year without a beauty purchase. I have shower gel, Konjac sponges, facial cleanser, skincare, makeup, shampoo and conditioner -- enough for the next few months.
The only thing I might want to pick up would be replacement Burt's Bees tinted lip balm and Acure Pear & Fig shampoo and conditioner. But there would have to be a shoplifter-level sale!

Holy smokes -- tomorrow is the last day of April.

Ahhhhh, I just returned from grocery shopping and it was actually a pleasure. Easter has come and gone and the seasonal residents/tourists have all gone home on schedule. No more team shopping where the man flails his arms around practicing his golf swing, sans club, in the produce section (true story), no more husbands sniping at their wives and pointing out that another brand is cheaper while she rolls her eyes, no more men standing in the middle of a busy isle oblivious that they are in the way and no one can get their cart around them.
But, on May 1, somebody flips a switch and it's instantly summer. So there's that. Today it's almost 90 with 85% humidity and it feels like it's 100, in a steam room. Blech. I need to grow gills so I can breathe.
With that humidity, comes frizzy hair so I made an impulse purchase at Publix and purchased a silicone/keratin hair serum called Zero Frizz. Never heard of it and it wasn't very expensive. Comes in a light blue bottle but the serum is clear and kind of thick. Of course, I couldn't wait to try it the next time I styled my hair so I just smoothed a pumpful onto my dry hair a minute ago. Makes my hair feel nice and smooth, not greasy or heavy. This might be a winner!
I was digging through my stash of skin care products I purchased a year ago (!) and I've started using a Cerave day cream with spf and encapsulated retinol. It has both a chemical and physical sunscreen in it and it does disappear nicely. But it doesn't play well with my liquid foundation so this is going to be used on those days that I'm not wearing makeup (most days). I have a Korean sunscreen that I like with liquid foundation but it's chemical, not physical. Last night I also used a Cerave night cream that I forgot I had and decided that I rather like it. For some reason, I have two half used jars of this night cream. No idea why.
The rose-breasted grosbeaks were only at our feeder for a couple of days before they, like the tourists, flew north.
Lately, I've been watching some Hallmark mystery movies and liked the Aurora Teagarden mysteries so much that I'm reading the first book in the series. I'm a True Blood fan, have read all the books and watched the series, so I knew I would like the cozy mysteries since it's the same author. I'm also enjoying the A Discovery of Witches show on AMC and may have to start reading that trilogy.

Sounds like you're ready for Mellow May!

I'm quickly running out of black tea. I've been out of my favorites for some time but am finally making a dent in the collection.
Keeping my eye on the site in case there's a sale on my two favorites, but I won't order until then.
Still have some greens, but when they're gone I'll be out of caffeine.
I need that sale.
