Re: ComPact 2018 – Just June

[ Edited ]

@just bee, Well, I too am a party pooper, although I wont admit for how long. Smiley Embarassed  I am not sure exactly when it happened, but it seems I became a homebody moreso than not. Not a bad thing but not always a good thing.

@rnmom, I have a bag or two that I need to get out and donate. I would love my closet floor back. I really need to look into a womens shelter or some other org besides Goodwill. Not that that isnt good but I would like to start helping directly.  I am always good about getting the donations out right away so I dont change my mind, but I keep forgetting to put the bags in my car. I would like to continue decluttering though and I think I may be getting my second or third wind, I am losing count.

@riversong, I hope your husband is doing well and recovering.

@oshare-girl, yes, it is nice that young girls today have youtube for guidance. I am still not sure I am blending correctly. LOL.  But my eyes arent really "eyeshadowy" eyes. I just use it because I like it. But I am loving using my mu again so I will stick with it until my motivation peters out.  I just have to work on my eye mu. Everything just looks the same no matter which palette I use. It is a bit disappointing.

@geezerette, that kitten followed the right person home. How sweet. I hope he/she works out and is a keeper. How is the baby doing?  And btw, you are just a sweet soul.  Thanks for taking the little one in.

@momoftwo2007- I meant to ask the if they take donations of food too, but I forgot when I was there. I will try to remember next time I go there. They also allow pets to stay with the women so they take pet items too. What a great deal! Helping families and animals!

Re: ComPact 2018 – Just June

@aprilskies- I was so glad to find this shelter to donate to. They've been around for a long time, it's a shelter for domestic violence victims and families but it's quite a ways away from my home. I was thrilled to find that they take donations for the shelter at the resale shop, which is much closer to my home. When I researched online I discovered that they take lots of items including toiletries and pet items because now pets are allowed to stay with the families also. I need to find out if they take food items too. I usually donate to the Salvation Army but I wanted to be able to help more directly too. Plus I didn't know if the Salvation Army took toiletries and the like, so this was a great win for all.

justbee - How about Joyful.  It is summer and we should be enjoying ourselves not worrying about our "stuff".  We will have all winter to do that.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe Fourth of July.

@just bee I love when this happens.  Angels sing!

@Oshare-girl

Hear that?  The angels are singing again.  Harney & Sons is having a sale on my favorite teas.

@PAlady

I've been perusing adjectives and I'm leaning towards something uplifting.

As for the Fourth, I like to take Independence Day off but we're so understaffed at work that I don't have the heart to do it.

The upside is that it's time to sell back our unused sick and vacation hours.  And I have lots.

That works too, in keeping with the Christmas in July spirit.
