@aprilskies- I do feel like I am done decluttering a lot of the obvious items, especially my own personal, older items, but there are still a few areas that I would like to go thru and like you said, we are never really done. Items are coming into the house all of the time, so eventually older items will have to be moved out. Plus I have growing kids in the house so I feel like it's constantly a round robin here, new items come in, out grown items get passed on.
I got a wax melt warmer for Christmas last year and I love it! I used to burn candles but the warmer is so much nicer! No open flames or fire to worry about, there are SO many different scents of wax melts to get, and it makes the house smell SO good! I still have a couple of candles left here to burn and use up, but I think that for now I'll just stick to the wax melts. I'm glad that you dug yours out of the closet and are getting some enjoyment out of it!

Well, ladies, I haven't done one bit of decluttering lately. DH was in the hospital over Thanksgiving and is now back in again with a mild case of pneumonia. I'm in a constant state of fear and worry and can't focus on anything as mundane as decluttering. For those that don't know, DH has a lethal form of acute leukemia and I am his only caregiver at home. The new chemo pills he started are working very well but then he came down with pneumonia...always something.
But, I've discovered the Hallmark Christmas movies. Now I understand why they are so popular...like watching a romance novel. The perfect form of escapism. I first started watching Chesapeake Shores on Hallmark. Now I put on the Christmas movies and can finally relax a little bit when I come home from the hospital. I'm enjoying looking at all the Christmas decorations because we haven't put up a Christmas tree this year, just too busy dealing with DH's constant health issues.
I have held strong on not buying any makeup with all the sale and gift sets, mostly because I've been too distracted. Haven't used my 20% off coupon at Ulta yet. I do need mascara, prefer L'Oreal, but tried ELF mascara on a whim and rather like it. It doesn't lengthen and I have short stubby lashes so it probably won't be a repeat purchase. But the ELF mascara is surprisingly nice if you only need to darken your lashes.

When something happens during the holidays it's always harder to manage. This is the time of year when we should be watching Hallmark movies for fun and not to escape. (That world always looks so perfect. Why is Canada so photogenic?)
But sometimes a little escapism is just what we need. You can always come here during commercials and visit.
Take this time for needed rest because you can't afford to be sick or exhausted.
We'll all be thinking about you and your husband and hoping he'll be home to watch those movies with you.

I use the Hallmark movies for the same reason. Mindless escapism. When I first started watching them, they made me sad because they always end up with the couple together living happily ever after. That p*$$ed me off for a very long time. Now, I can watch without bitterness. And they’re really good for turning on in bed to fall asleep. I don’t have to wonder if I miss the ending—they all turn out the same way!😄
Sorry you have to go through all this, holidays or not. Keep positive, maybe next year as you and your husband are putting up your Christmas tree, you can look back at this year and be thankful.
Good thoughts and prayers...❤️🙏🕊

By “back and forth dialogue”, do you mean like this—where I have quoted your post and then replied to it? If so, you must click on the “reply” button that is in the post you want to quote—it’s at the bottom right of the post box: “reply” and “quick reply”. Click the “reply” box. When the reply box comes up for you to write your reply, there is a “quote” feature at the top right of the reply box (to the far right of where it says “Rich Text, HTML, Preview”). Click on “quote”, and the post that you are replying to will appear—like yours has in this post. Then you can post your reply underneath it.
I hope that makes sense!🤞

@River Song and ladies,
I have not done one bit of decluttering lately, either. In fact, I have been buying whole bunch of beauty products. I just couldn't resist all those holiday sets and all the coupons and discounts that the companies keep sending me. I should really go into a NO BUY right now. :<
I hope your husband gets better soon. It is emotionally exhausting being the caretaker. Over the Thanksgiving break, one of my friends was going through a very tough time, and one of my neighbors got really sick. So, I guess I was dealing with all these stress by shopping. Not good :<

I just noticed you're @stillbelleandme now. So observant! NOT.
Can you find us again?

Hmmm. How do we get you to drink more tea? I tend to drink a lot of it when I wake up. That's what starts my day.
Are you still drinking coffee?
@just bee, yes, I am still drinking coffee, I really like it. I am not looking to give that up. I have reduced it to two cups a days for most days, there are exceptions.
I remembered to bring some cinnamon spice to work with me. I actually really enjoy that one. The first cup I thought was too sweet, but it tastes perfect now. I wouldnt mind a backup of that.

@rnmom, I was so happy that the scents were just as strong as the day I bought them. It smelled wonderful. The only thing I dont like about these things, just like the candles, is I can get pretty forgetful and sidetracked. But, yes, these are much better than open flames. I only have half of a BBW candle left and that completes my candles and I will not be buying more so I rediscovered these just in time.
With kids @rnmom, you will be decluttering for a while.

@River Song, decluttering is the last thing you need to worry about. You have enough to handle. It can just be a nice distraction if you need one. I wish your husband the best and hope they are at least managing the pain.
The best to you and your husband in the coming months. Sending healing thoughts your way.
