Re: ComPact 2018 -- Adaptable August!

Oh -- I did have a beauty purchase this month other than the haircut.

I restocked pure grace spritz because philosophy had a BOGO offer.  But I haven't bought any tea.

I wonder how long I can go...

@just bee-glad to hear that the water is back on, that's gotta be a relief.

Great list of items! I'd be curious to smell those lotions though, they actually sound like they'd smell good!

@rnmom

I think I have more of them on a closet shelf with all the Vanilla Bean Noel I stocked.  They did smell pretty good, but not something anyone older than eight wants to smell like in public.

I was going to use them as hand lotion but I still can't develop the lotion habit.  One of those Halloween scents was a keeper, though.  Sinful Vanilla.  Still have a ton of that!

I'm having a cup of Affinia.  Haven't touched the stuff since that off-putting first impression, but it seems to taste much better now. Woman Happy

I'm tracking my shipment.  My spritz left Raleigh, North Carolina and went to Greensboro.  Then it went to Montgomery, Alabama and on to Jackson, Mississippi.  Visited Dallas, Texas and is now in Fort Worth.

Your new hair looks/sounds really cute!  I’ve always wished I could wear a style like that, but anything short doesn’t work for me.  I have fine, soft, straight hair, although still an adequate amount.  When it’s short it stays plastered to my head unless I have a perm or use an inordinate amount of products, not to mention taking the time to style it every single day.  I have a school picture of me in about fourth grade with that very plaster head to remind me.  Like @rnmom, I’ve kept my hair on the longer side pretty much since high school, with a few exceptions.  It really looks best if I wear it in a page boy (bob), but that’s too much work for me too.  So I just keep it long enough to pull back or clip up.  It’s not flattering, but it is easy.  The Old Geezer always liked it longer, even though now I look like Wanda The Witch if I wear it down.

@aprilskies,  where have you been hiding yourself?  Glad to see you back.  The kitten thinks he’s fitting in.  The older cat thinks he’s not.  And doing his best to try to make sure the young one knows he doesn’t think so.  There’s been no blood drawn yet, but things are still tense.  The little one just won’t take no for an answer and wants to play.  The older cat never was much for playing, even when he was young.  (He’s eight now.)  And he’s never really liked other animals.  I’ve been doing my best to make sure the older cat still has his own areas and they do seem to be getting better.  If they were both kittens, I would assume the interaction they’re having was play, but with the attitude of the older cat, I’m not so sure at this point.  I keep an eye on them when they’re together.  Interestingly, when they get too rowdy, Carla rushes in to reprimand them both.  Which is quite ironic considering all the trauma she’s caused around here herself.

Howdy, stranger!

I decided today that I will probably never buy another eyeshadow palette.  I just don't have time to layer different shades on my lids.  I tried that this morning with a tiny e.l.f. palette and I don't see the point.  I'd rather use one color and be done.

I'm finally getting close to finishing a bareMinerals glimmer.  It was a pot of "summer" that I've had forever.  I don't even think they make it anymore, but the next time I need shadow, I'll consider another pot like this.  There's some speculation that the company is discontinuing these pots of color and if that's the case I may snap.

Better track down a few before they disappear.

@just bee, you know when I get on the roll of using mu, I enjoy playing with my palettes even though it doesnt make a difference on my eyes, however, if I was honest, I could do with only one light colored shadow, maybe two. Quick and easy. This morning I used 3 colors, I even used an orangey shade, it looks no different than yesterday. LOL. I use the colors lightly so they dont show up like they maybe could.I am okay with that since I dont want it overdone for work.

I would get my hands on those little pots while they still exist.

@just bee, lol, I havent touched it either. It was a hard one to go back to.  But, I havent touched any of them and need to start having some tea every now and then. I am a coffee drinker but get in tea crazes from time to time.   I have some of them at work, I just need to reach for them.

Have you bought more tea since?

@geezerette, you know, G, it has been prettty weird for me lately. I got into this "thing" of not wanting to be home. I would go home and shortly would have to get out and about. So, I would go anywhere that I could.  It was a pretty strange feeling and one I am not sure I liked, although it got me to walk more.

It is so funny. I had a situation with cats like that too. Growing up we had an older cat that was friendly and not, but when we brought a kitten home, the kitten would try and play with her and she would just hiss. That little thing did not care, she just kept at it. She was a fiesty one.  The older cat finally gave in but it was so funny to see this fiesty little thing not giving up.

You have your hands full but they are worth it.

Any interesting purchases lately?
