Do you still have your Band Wagon graphic? I need to get back on!

Hi Everyone!

I can't remember the last time I posted here. I just gave up and let my "Aquisiton Addiction" take over. I couldn't resist the sales, BOGO, coupons, etc.

I still have a weakness for (and stockpiles of), shampoo, condittioner, soap, shower gel, lotions/potions, oils, and candles.

Let's talk about candles: In January 2015 I started out with 35 jar candles. I used 9, bought 4 more. So in December 2015, I had 30 jar candles but I ordered 5 more. Hey BBW had a good sale! So now, January 2016 I'm starting off with 35 jar candles again! The good thing is, I burn them just about every night. But I need to get a grip and stop buying. It'll take me about 4 years to burn what I have (if I don't add to them).

Goals for this year: declutter, organize, simplify, shop my stash, and stop buying things I don't need!

I see some of you are following Mary Organizes declutter challenge. I read somewhere that her missions take 30-45 minutes each. That seemed too much for me so I'm following Home Storage Solutions 101 (Declutter 365 is the FB group). These misssions are supposed to be 5-15 minutes each, but go all year.

BTW, I'm glad to see some familiar names posting. I feel like I'm "coming home". Smiley Happy

Welcome back!!! We're glad to have you back! BBW 3 wick candles are hands down my favorite. They burn very well and last a long time. I only buy them when they are on sale so they are quite reasonable compared to other higher end brand candles.

I caved and ended up ordering the Laura Geller TSV. But I have return in process that will offset it.

That new foundation perked my interest but I have too many that I am not using now and need to.  Let us know what you think once you have had a chance to use it. Plus this is my first low-buy year so I need to be real selective as to what I wil buy. It is going to be interesting.

I didn't see one of her presentations when she was on!! That's a first for me. I usually like to watch her even if I'm not interested in buying. I think I got burned one too many times by her balance and brighten having horrid dark streaks that I have given up on her line? When I would get a kit on auto delivery, 1 out of the 3 or 4 kits would only be a good match for me. The others would be too dark almost bronzers which is too bad since I liked the coverage and speed of using it.

I am starting to get back to the One Until Done way of using up body products. I had fallen out of habit doing that and it was taking a long time to empty a container. I started to concentrate on only 1 body butter....drumroll please......I'm an inch away from using up a big Korres tube!!! Oh the joy at seeing that I will be close to using it up!!!! I don't think most people get the joy of emptying containers like we do! LOL.

I use my candle containers to set silver wear in for buffet style parties, to hold change in, for my ms

akeup brushes.  Other ideas, for the makeup items you are trying to use up, for those small items such as tweezers, hair clips, etc,   If they will fit in your medicine cabinet to organize small tubes or cotton balls, q tips.   Can store pet treats.   I spray paint mine, cool if you put a stencil on them too.

I gave up on bnb as well because of the color variations too.  I loved how quick it was and it evened out my skin tone nicely. I have given up on her bronze n brighten too. I loved the first compact I had gotten of this, just loved it, so natural looking, but it was never the same after the first compact.

Yes, one and done, I am doing the same with the body products.  I also put aside a dozen face products that I want to focus on.

I LOLed on throwing out empty containers. I can't tell you how thrilling it is for me to throw out something that I have actually used up.  It is too funny.

Hmm, for silver wear, what a great idea. The bbw candle jars would be a great height.  I only have two candles, one that is done and the other I am burning that once done I will use for my brushes, but this is something to keep in mind.  Thanks for sharing.

Today was my last day off & I still have the decluttering bug.  I went thru the bathroom linen closet and had 3 bags of old towels & blankets to donate to the humane society.  I don't know why I use towels to death and then don't get rid of them.  We really don't need more than 2 towels each.  And one each for the beach & pool.  Wow, so much more space became available after that clear out.  We also got to visit the animals at the humane society.  We only saw 3 cats but there were a bunch of sweet pitbull mix dogs.  It was fun.  Hey, I decluttered and got to do something fun because of it!

I also moved around the stuff in the kitchen cabinets.  Everything is much more accessible and I found an old rusty pan to throw out.  I totally forgot about it!  Just getting rid of that one piece made things fit so much better.  Another lesson learned, the more stuff I have, the less I use them because everything is jammed into the spaces and are not accessible.  How ironic.

I'm working on using up household cleaners now.  We have 3 of the same mildew cleaners in one bathroom.  Why???

Me and the kids went to an organization store to get a pull out drawer for the kitchen cabinet.  I found it and was still browsing.  DS asked if I found what I needed.  Yes, I did. So why are we still shopping, he asked.  Touche.

The dog seems to be inheriting all the old towels, sheets and blankets.  But I hear ya -- we use our towels to death, too.  We're still using the towels that matched the master bath when we moved in 21 years ago.  We've since changed the color scheme (dramatically) in that room, but Better-half says it's ridiculous to buy new matching towels when our old towels still perform.

Same here--at least the new dog is using up the towels, sheets and blankets because she's eating them, along with everything else she can get into her mouth.

I need an update!  How is she?

I need an update!  How is she?

Getting big—5 months this week and 42 lbs, which is less than half of what she’ll top out at. She’s built like a Mack truck and everyone tells us she’s going to be a bruiser.  A big, goofy, and extraordinarily smart girl.  She’s still full of energy and can be a pill to deal with at times, but she is absolutely the most loving dog we’ve ever had.  Between her and her sister (who comes over to play), I’m not sure if we’ll have a house left by the time they both get full-grown.  We have a full length screen door on our front door and the other day her sister plowed right through the screen (for the third time, I might add) and finally totally destroyed it.  Our lovely girl has every toy and chewy imaginable but has to go into the woods every chance she gets to bring in a tree limb to munch on.  (Our living room rug is going into the trash after the weather warms up—it’s destroyed.)  She’s begun to get her permanent teeth, so everything goes into her mouth right now.  The old geezer says he’s never felt better since he started walking her: the resistance training he’s getting is really helping his health—there’s always a bright side to everything.

Oh, I’m having a really hard time passing up the dog toy aisles. Everything is so very tempting since any new toy occupies her long enough for us to have a few hours of peace and quiet!

Thanks for asking!  Cat Happy

This is so very true!  And the amazing thing is that it's written by a woman.

I try to remind myself of much of what was written in that article on a daily basis.  Unfortunately, it's often after I've just received something that I didn't need to purchase in the first place!  Cat LOL
