It does sound like you would be ready for July to come to an end. So sorry to hear about your DS. I can relate, unfortunately. I hope the medications will do the trick for him. I think we're finding out nowadays that a lot of this stuff is genetic. I recently learned that my great-nephew was put on medication for the same thing. My niece says that it's done him a world of good. He's even thinking of returning to college (out-of-state). Hopefully you and your family can find some relief to the emotional roller coaster you've all been on.
But you have a good attitude about eating. So July was a bust, that's past. August is a chance for a new beginning. It seems like stress demands lots of comfort food!
(But cake really does sound good...🎂🍰)
I'm thinkin' cheesecake...

Dosey - Things will get better! That is what you need to believe. My friend has a daughter who has major depression and anxiety issues. It went as far as she tried to commit suicide a couple times. She's received treatment and is on medications but it took a while to get the right dosage/type. Your DS is lucky to have you and the support of his family. I think it's good that people are more open about mental health and wellbeing. You learn that you're not alone!

July was FULL of temptations! Everywhere there were sales sales sales!!! I was able to avoid the majority of them including some stellar deals on HSN combined with free shipping. gosh I love a free shipping deal!
I did buy the jumbo Philosophy shower gel TSV that was my 1 major beauty splurge. But I have already been loving Senorita Margarita in my shower so I think it was a good purchase since I will enjoy it!
Overall, I used up 10 beauty items in July! That is huge considering some of the containers seemed like it took FOREVER to use up!! This year, I have to pat myself on the back. I'm finally really using up items and paying attention to use up older items before they expire. In the past, I would have multiple similar items open at once. Now, concentrating on using up 1-2 items I feel like I got my moneys worth out of the product and I get a rush completing a bottle! Who knew getting to the bottom of it would feel so good? LOL
August goal - No Buy beauty/skincare/makeup except for my Bare Minerals TSV auto delivery.
I also need to take a review of my Summer clothing items. Things not worn yet, need to be donated or thrown out depending on their condition. I refuse to pack up a bunch of unworn Summer items at the end of the season!!
I'm telling myself to enjoy the Summer weather - even though it's so humid outside you feel it as soon as you walk outside. We only have a few days this bad a year. 6 months from now, we'll be wishing for Summer weather when we're covered in snow.

Anyone else looking forward to watching the Olympics?? I am!!! I always like seeing the Opening Ceremony. Summer events I like best are the gymnastics and swimming. I was never a fan of track and field in school...watching people run now? Just makes me want to sit down and snack on something calorie filled LOL.

Dosey, here is to a better August. Sorry to hear about your son. Depression is a terrible thing. Hopefully he will feel better as the medication kicks in. Can't imagine what it feels like to see your child go through that.

Thank you all for the nice words and thoughts. Yesterday, DS had a good day. When I came home for lunch, he was up and about. I gave him and DD $20 to go do something. That brought a big smile to both faces. When I came home after work, they were playing a Playstation game and laughing. Today was a good day, too. Not as good as yesterday, but good. DS has been seeing a therapist for a few months. I wanted to address the cause of his depression and anxiety. DS doesn't open up to people easily. The therapist has helped some but not enough. With school starting soon, I decided that we needed to try something else. Our doctor said that it was not uncommon for young adults to go through this. We see both the doctor and therapist next week for follow ups.
Today marks my 54th year on this planet. You know what that means. CAKE!! HEP? What's HEP?
Day three of the No Buy. No problemo.
