I also returned the Emma Hardie cleanser.  The day after I used it, my face broke out in several places including two spots on my nose!  I thought maybe that was going to happen anyway, so I waited until things healed and tried the cleanser, again.  More breakouts the very next day including another one on the tip of my nose and one on my brow bone.  Pooh!  I returned that, too.  When I took the Evine package to the P.O. to buy postage (no prepaid return label), I found out that it was heavy enough to qualify for automatic priority delivery with insurance included.  Then, the clerk said that it did not include insurance after all because Evine had set it up with the P.O. not to allow priority returns to have the insurance.  It was $2 extra.  I decided to pay the $2 because it would have been my luck that something happen to the package, and I am out the money.  So to try the cleanser, it cost me $15 (shipping both ways).  A hard lesson, my friends.

Have you not found your Holy Grail cleanser?  Refresh my memory: Have you tried Paula's Choice?  I've had pretty good luck with her products.

I have found TWO cleansers that I love - Isomers Double Duty cleanser which I use at night and have two bottles and Isomers Vitamin C cleanser that I use in the morning but am out of (waiting for a good deal).  I have no excuse except that I fell for the sales pitch.  When will I learn? Smiley Embarassed

It happens.  Philosophy had that BOGO, and I figured the new scent (good morning, sunshine) was a freebie.  Do I like this fragrance?  Not really.  Could have just stuck with pure grace.  Not thrilled with fresh cream, either.  Better-half likes the new scent because it's a little grapefruity, but it still has too much floral in it for me.

Rnmom, I am glad you found a job that better suits your lifestyle and will now allow you to get back into decluttering mode.

Good luck!

My decluttering has been in limbo because of the whole school/work thing.  I've been good about stopping the flow and have pretty much made that a habit.  But I still need some purging.  I plan to get back to it once school is over.

But I'm also thinking about a job change.  I like working in psych and I don't have a problem with the actual work.  But there's a thin line between the patients and the staff.  Sometimes I have to wonder: Who's crazier?  I can deal with the crazy patients, but the crazy coworkers are really dangerous.

I'm at a loss.  Where would I want to work?  Hospice is the only other area that really interests me.  I do miss the babies I worked with as a tech, but I don't believe in "going home again."  I always thought I'd volunteer as a cuddler at the hospital once I was finished with school and had more time.  Then I could just sit with the withdrawal babies and sing songs from Broadway musicals and tell them about what great food they had to look forward to once they got their teeth.

What to do, what to do.

----------------------------------------

I think you have done great with stopping the flow.  It really makes a huge difference.  I still have a few areas I need to get control of which really surprises me but I am working on them, and they are skincare/mu and groceries.

Decluttering and maintaining the "level" has been one of the best things I have done.  I have always decluttered before, however, found myself in the same spot before long, but not this time. Besides the areas above, my purchases are now mindful and I just don't allow myself to bring things home that I would not use and nothing that was brought in went in a corner.

Cuddling babies, omgosh, how sweet. I looked into a program around me years ago, however, never participated. I was in my 20's and found it daunting that I would be fully responsible for 6-8 babies at the same time.  It wasn't just cuddling them, it was changing/feeding etc and scared the beejesus out of me at the time. I was young, lol, but that would be a sweet thing.  We need to infuse love into the world.

Dosey, I agree that Coco's age & lack of offspring allow her to live the spartan life.  I could not do it now at my age and lifestage.  But I wish I had been as wise when I was her age.  I could have saved a lot of money!  And wouldn't have been in such a rush to buy a home.  When DH was in grad school, he took the max amount of student loans so that we could live comfortably.  We spent 13 years after he graduated paying those loans back.  If we had lived like Coco, we probably could have lived on 1/4 the amount.  Makes me a little sick to think about it.  But I'm trying to instill that in my kids before they leave the nest so they don't make the same mistakes.

Yes, me too.  I wish I was a bit wiser with my finances.  That would mostly definitely be something I would change.  I think I would even be set financially now but I guess those are the growing pains of life, I suppose.  I think it is great that you are both teaching your kids, hopefully, they will handle things differently when it comes to their finances.

I'm still on a no-buy for eyeshadows.  That bug killed any desire to buy a new eyeshadow palette.  I guess I should thank the bug.

Thank for you sharing the story regarding the bug in the old eyeshadow. I'm going to hold on to that story to prevent myself from being tempted to buy new eye pallettes. I have plenty already in my stash and shouldn't buy anymore but gosh darn it, they are too pretty!

Findmyjoy, I just had to laugh.  Yes, they sure are pretty.  They pull me in every time, it is crazy and so hard to resist.

Dosey, bummer that those items didnt work out for you. I know the excitement before we receive something and the disappointment afterwards when they weren't quite what we thought they would be. It is fun to try out new items but the cost of shipping these days makes the "disappointments" worse.  At least you have a couple holy grails products that you can fall back on.

I am hoping Isomers comes out with a few good kits in August for their anniversary shows.  I don't need a whole lot but would like to try some things and am hoping for some good kits with good prices.

Isn't it crazy when we stray and try something new and realize we should have stuck with the one we already like?? This was totally me too when Bath and Body Works had their sale last month. Because it was such a "good" deal, I tried a bunch of new fragrances in their shower gels. What am I discovering? I haven't fallen in love with any of the new scents. I could have skipped getting them and stuck with the scents I knew I already liked.

Kathie66,  I bet you had fun with the Mally show. I would love it if my friends were into that kind of thing. None of them really are that is why I appreciate these boards so much. It great when people understand the craziness, excitements, disappointments, etc.

I, too, resisted that Borghese kit. I so wanted that painted jar but I knew the products would just sit there for the long term.  I would like to try Borghese at one point.  I love how the jars are reusable.

Good luck with your decluttering, it definteily is a process.

Count me in for also wishing I had been wiser. I guess it's something we all have to live and learn. I don't regret spending money on any of the actual experiences like travels since those were enriching my life. But all of the filler stuff? All of the mindless shopping for stuff that has just accumulated and now I want to get rid of? I'm learning slowly that it's much more rewarding to make a great big purchase that I'll use and holds value (like a new used car for me) or a trip versus the trap of trying every new thing that comes out for skincare etc.

I'm also learning after trying tons of different stuff, there isn't any miracle product no matter what the sales people say! I think learning this fact will help me with my compacting goals.
