Four days left to do something fun! (Oh, dear. Am I starting to sound desperate?)

When did fun become so hard to do?

I am fully 100% with you. Yesterday, I spent the whole morning, and I do mean the whole morning, organizing and managing and I was thoroughly disgusted and a little bit frustrated. I feel like I have been doing this forever and it doesnt seem to end. It is time for some more fun stuff, at least to balance it out.

That's a good question. But I have two days off -- today and tomorrow -- and I need to find my fun (in addition to doing homework).

I need to see the northern lights.

Oh, my goodness! Just checked in on the albatross families and the babies are getting their feathers! They're losing their fluff!

Isn't it just amazing? I noticed it about a week ago. I thought I mentioned it to you...guess not. Anyway, I was so excited to be able to see that. Thanks, again.

Yesterday I got to see both of the eagle parents in the nest. That was a first for me. They're so magnificent. I confess to being partial to them and to worrying about the smaller eaglet. I have to remind myself that Mom knows what she's doing.

Also, yesterday one of the hawks was standing at the side of the nest gazing our. It's hard not to give them human thoughts and emotions. (There's a word for that which I can't think of right now.) I wondered if he was thinking about when he'd be soaring high over the country side...giving mice and rabbits heart attacks. {#emotions_dlg.scared}

For fun I planted some herb and marigold seeds this weekend. That's not technically a new thing for me, but it's the first time in several years that I've been able to do so. Now that it's baseball season, I probably spend too much time having fun! LOL

Have a good week, Everyone.

The word is anthropomorphize. Color me guilty. Their personalities -- catch that? Personalities? -- are developing.

The hawks are getting restless. They're testing their wings and flapping around every chance they get. They know. Watch the eagle and hawk kids as their parents soar away from the nest. It's like A Chorus Line. I expect the kids to start singing "I Can Do That."

Uh, not yet. But soon.

Marigolds are wonderful, by the way.

Thanks for the help, just bee. It would have taken me a year to come up with that word, anthropomorphize. All I could remember was the "morph" part. LOL

One of the eaglets was flapping his wings today. The larger one took a big piece of fish before Mom could get it ready. She just stood there with her head cocked to the side watching. When he finally gave up trying to eat it, she leaned over and helped. So much patience.

Thanks re the marigolds. I'm hoping they'll keep the squirrels out of the herbs. Have a good week.

This was not fun but it was funny. As I was getting a box of trash to go in the garage I noticed a very old fashioned cord, the plug was round, hanging on the wall. Out of curiousity I took it down and the other end was a clean cut. It was a cord that lead to nothing. Why in heavens name did my parents hang it up on that wall. Neither was was an electrician that could rewire cords. It is no longer in the house.

I'm pretty sure I saw the same thing. Clearly I'm spending too much time with these birds!

Today, someone will come to the house to analyze our trees. I'm tense. Mr. Big Tree is dead and will need to be removed and that is depressing. A few others have issues. Trees are popping up where they shouldn't be growing. I can't have all the work done at once and I don't want someone to tell me that trees have to be removed.

I'm attached to these guys.
