Hey, Dosey! I wonder if your one-day challenge would work over here. Hmmmmm...

Excellent idea! ComPacters, on the Healthy Eating thread, I suggested that on Thursday we do something to improve our health. I am giving up sugar for the day. A tough challenge for me. We could also have a one-day challenge on this thread. Do something that will bring you closer to your compacting goals. It does not have to take all day. If you have been wanting to spend 15 minutes going through paperwork, do it tomorrow. Clean out that linen closet. Tackle the junk drawer. Today, I gave myself a mental thumbs up for not allowing catalogs to accumulate. Yet, there is a stack of papers in my bedroom that taunts me every morning. I have become quite good ignoring it as I walk to the bathroom. Time to stop ignoring it and just take care of it. Yes, Thursday is the day!

I've spent my morning posting Maya Angelou quotes on Viewpoints and I found one that works for us.

So true!

A while ago just bee asked what our shame was, mine was not decluttering my clothes like I wanted to. I have been donating clothes to the youth home near us a little at a time. I said I wanted to be done with the clothes decluttering because I was taking to long to do it. Well, I a now finished going thru all the clothes I have and now just have to list what I am donating for tax purposes. I am just thrilled to be done. Thanks ladies for keeping on track.

Since the clothes are done, my next item on the list is going thru all the stacks of paper "stuff" I have sitting around the house. I have a bad habit of tearing pages out of magazines of ideas, or items that I want to look into. Well of course I have not gone back and looked at the papers and I probably have lost interest in the idea or items I though I wanted. I would just throw it all away and not look at it, but with my luck something important is stashed in the pile. I have found credit card statements in my stacks before so I guess I have my work cut out for me.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their ideas and reminders of things I need to get done, some how this thread make me feel accountable for cleaning out my stuff. Sorry about the rambling here.

Hope everyone has a Happy and Safe Memorial Day.

one of the things I use Pinterest for is instead of printing out a recipie, just save it on your pinterest page for when you need it, no paper to save and sort through

In light of Dosey's one day challenge, today I am going to work on my kitchen/dining room table, which for the life of me, cant keep clean. It is my catch all spot. Its amazing how things accumulate.

Yesterday, I got a burst of motivation and gathered up more clothes, shoes, belts, and scarfs etc. My closets are starting to look empty. uh oh. Once I do laundry, I will put some more clothes in the pile. I wore a couple of things this week and they are not me or I am done with the look, so out they go. The good news, I have a lot of empty hangers, more empties than clothes in my closet, so if I see things now I really love, I wont feel guilty about buying them. Although, I have to be careful not to think this is an invitation to go crazy and fill up again. My drawers are next.

Hide those empty hangers! {#emotions_dlg.lol}

jackthebear - I like to print recipes out, I have a special notebook in the kitchen for them, but I do have pages of "reminders" of things I might like: makeup, clothes, shoes etc... I can honestly say I usually end up just taking all the "reminder" pages and throwing them out in one sweep. Then I sit there and think - What was I saving all this for? The sad part is it like rinse and repeat, I do it again a month later. I know - What is the definition of insanity.

Hope everyone has a great day.

My one day challenge was to clean the kitchen/dining room table. Check. Everything isnt necessarily handled, but it is not sitting on the table and I love it. I even decluttered my dresser drawers and got rid of more things. I am on a roll these last two days. I am getting the decluttering bug again.

I do the same thing. Although, I am making less lists these days except for my to do lists.
