Well it looks like I will be forced to declutter tomorrow. My baby (20 year old son and first born) is moving out tomorrow. It is a very sad time for me. He tells me he'll be back, but I don't see it. I have found in my experience, that once you move out you can't go back. I can't believe the years have gone so fast not only with him moving out, but with all the clutter that I have accumulated over the years. Not only that, I have saved a lot of things in case my kids would want the things for themselves....well I guess I'll see if he wants a lot of this stuff that I have accumulated.

Just bee, I understand how you feel.

When my father died, I only took a few things home with me. Did not want to be selfish. When my mother died, I only took a few things home with me. Did not want to be selfish.

Today. Who knows what happened to all of my mother's family documents dating back to the 1800s? Who knows what happened to all of my dad's navy documents? I wish I had been selfish. My siblings simply do not care about family memorabilia.

My ORC stalled bad. Need to get back on that wagon and will start with the 15 minutes. When my kids were little, I used to put the timer on for 7 minutes every night and we would race around and organize what we could every night. Need to get back in the habit myself. My kids recently reminded me of our 7 minutes of cleaning. My daughter turns 25 on Tuesday where did the time go?

What a great idea? Do you think I can get a 16 yo and 12 yo to do it?

Fifteen minutes was not enough for my paperwork decluttering. I need to get up there and finish the job, but DH is napping in the room. I am stretched thin, anyway. Doing laundry, making dinner, quizzing my kids (finals are this week), posting, just updated my resume a bit (applying for two jobs tomorrow - pray for me!)

I love the decluttering pictures. Those in #1 are so cute. They remind me of the graphics in books I read to my kids when they were small. The moving message is good to ask myself when going through things. When my neighbors moved a few years ago, they did most of it themselves because it was a local move. They had an open trailer attached to their car that was filled with boxes. It was stuff from their attic. Our neighbor said there were more loads. He wanted to get rid of it, but his wife vetoed that idea. No, I do not want to move clutter.

Sounds like everyone is decluttering or thinking about it. Me too. Over the last few days, I gathered together so much more stuff. I am ready to let go of another layer. Clothes that I am tired of, styles I am done with, suits I dont wear, things that dont make me feel good, more shoes that just are not comfortable, household stuff, etc etc. Its amazing to me that this process just seems to go on an on. The funny part is now I walk into my bedroom closet and think "hey, where's miy stuff?" You got to love it.

I love the pictures too. The agonizing one really gave me a giggle. I think we have all been there.

I have also made an effort lately of trying to get things crossed off my to do list. It is amazing how this list grows but nothing or barely nothing gets crossed off. So the last few days, I was able to get some crossed off and it feels great. I didnt even have to add anything that wasnt on there just to be able to cross something off. lol
