Ah, the beauty of the wish list!

I was reading some more of these posts, and I feel the urge to praise the glorious wish list. When I find something I want, on the wish list it goes. If it's in a catalog or magazine, the page gets folded down. From time to time, I delete items online and tear out the pages and toss the catalogs, and then i toss most of the pages. I still have a file with a bunch of pages of things and ideas I really like. I don't have to give them up. I also don't have to buy them.

The best thing about putting something on a wish list is that I get to dismiss it from my mind. There it is, waiting for me, whenever I want to look at it again. Meanwhile, I can enjoy wanting it, admire my wonderful taste in liking it, and not spend a dime. And I can actually get it when I choose to. But over time, most of the things I thought were so splendid turn into "nice" and then "meh."

I love your approach. I think that sometimes things seem so important right in the moment, but with just a bit of time and space they do tend to go on to "nice" then "meh." So I agree...

THREE CHEERS FOR THE WISHLIST!!!

I forgot to add --- MAJOR accomplishment for me ---- first time ever I completely avoided the B&BW semi annual sale!! Other years, I would have at least bought some 3 wick candles. This year I bought nothing! I really hit my candle stash instead. I started burning a couple scents I had been "saving"....saving for what? who knows....

I do the same thing with bath and body stuff. I'll put off using the things I REALLY enjoy (Perlier French Lime Blossom, Lancôme La Vie Est Belle) to use up things I don't like as well. I don't know why I'm saving them either, but I do.

I do the same thing, use up lotions etc that i dont like at all, so that I can really enjoy the ones i like.. makes no sense.. maybe in the back of my mind I think if I use up the ones i like first i'll buy more and not use up the ones that are not my favorites

Aw, gee! Your kindness is always appreciated here, annacat. And it's so good to "hear" things are going better. I might just have to steal that meditation idea!

30 minutes a day of meditation (sometimes called centering prayer for some but not all western religions) rests and heals the brain.

The old medicine made it so I could not do this.

Pain pills are lethal even if you are not an addict!

And I was never an addict, I do not like to experience euphoria (this is proof, if I did, I would like to be hi).

I know this is very personal to me but it is so dangerous I am taking a risk and posting it!

My best friend and I say goodbye with the words

love and light,

I hear ya! I worry about what's prescribed to patients. It's really horrifying how many capsules and tablets people can consume in one day. I can barely tolerate a daily vitamin. One horse pill is plenty. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

The return of the Murphy bed! Many of these designs are old ideas that probably never should have gone away. I remember old apartments with Murphy beds and ironing boards that would pull out of walls.

Liked those bunk beds. And I saw a captain's bed in a store recently. I had one all through high school.

Hi Jusr Bee,

Some of us were born mice, become paper tigers and then sea turtles!

My now dead cat, Athena, is every bit as much an angel as are dogs!

it depends on the person, see Indigenous People in this continent for reasons why.

Love,

a former and still like to be mouse,

Re: ComPact 2014 – February

Hello All, it snowed today in Seattle which forced me to stay home and take care of some small chores. I cleaned, sorted my change, and completely cleared the top of a desk. I also read some magazines and emptied two containers of tea. I did find a bottle of Herbal Essence cleansing conditioner. I have used it three times. Still don't know how I like it for my hair but I love it as a shave cream. Wen makes my legs witch (minus the w), but this brand leaves them so soft. However, I have not shopped for hair care products for over 3 years. I was overwhelmed with the amount of choices within brand families. I also added a sunscreen to my stash. I have less than 1/3 of a bottle, and found just what I was looking for at 1/2 price, so I bought it. I originally planned not to buy until June but decided to purchase since it had everything I wanted. Now I don't have to be overwhelmed by sunscreen displays.
