We have a few places that are quaint this time of year, even though they are centered around stores.. I havent been doing so well and need to pull it back some. It is amazing how strong that old shopping bug crept back. But, I certainly dont want to find myself in the same place I have worked so hard in getting out of. This time of year is definitely tough.
I hope everyone has safe and healthy holidays centered around people and good times. Yes, be safe out there. The stores have been crazy now for a long time, I cant imagine what is yet to come.
I really cant believe we are about to close out another year. Where did it go?
Just Bee, how is school going> Are you now doing your master's or higher degree?
Nope -- just working on a BSN. I'll be balanced: I have a BA and soon I'll have a Bee-Ess (the initials are not allowed on this forum). If I survive. I discovered that we get a Christmas break. I guess we're so jaded in healthcare that we just assume there are no breaks for the holidays. The shock of discovering this almost shut down my circulatory system. This school and work thing is tiresome. But more and more hospitals are requiring BSNs, so if I ever want to move or work somewhere else, I'll need to have it.

Why do I want this, why do I need it, and is it replacing or duplicating something I already own? My mother insists on buying me many gifts. I cannot convince her that I really don't need more. My sister also wants to buy me something. I finally convinced her that all I wanted was a new Christmas mystery book. On Black Friday I bought just two items and one was an item to donate to an auction. The other was sweat pants, because my current pair is so pilled that they feel icky to put on. So far it seems to be working. I have said no to the make-up kits, because I think of all the lip and cheek products in my stash. I did buy a Josie Maran TSV kit because it was all lotions, and I have no stash of lotions. I still love this thread. Thanks to all of you for keeping it active.
Off topic but DL2843, do you have any recommendations for Christmas mysteries? thanks!

I know it is a lot of work, just the thought makes me shiver, however, there are so many options now for nurses/doctors that once they are done with working hands-on with patients can move into the admin side or begin to work with Foundations. Missions of certain Foundations are centered around creating programs around health and health care and the experience that nurses and doctors bring are very valuable. I know a few that have made the transition to Foundations and enjoy the work. Doesn't mean every nurse or doc wants to do something different, may just enjoy the hands-on with patients, but nice to have options. I love options. Yes, going to school while working is definitely challenging. A Christmas break would be awesome and I am sure well deserved. On 12/10/2014 aprilskies said:Hi Everyone. Haven't posted in a while but I've been reading. Compacting was a mixed bag for me this year. I still haven't bought any skin care, lotions, potions etc in two years. No jewelry in about a year. This is a big deal because I'm addicted to Jay King & Nicky Butler. I bought some clothes I didn't need, but that was back in the summer. I just ordered a dress & even though I like it & will wear it for a few years, I'm actually returning it. I looked at it & thought about an overflowing closet & decided I don't need it. I've been getting rid of a lot of junk that's been collecting dust.
The only product I need next year is face lotion. That's it. I don't need any clothes. I have so much it's an embarrassment. I think when you have so much skin care that it you will not need to buy any more for the rest of your life, that should be a wake up call and boy I'm I finally awake.
