I had to make an unexpected and unwanted purchase on Sunday. {#emotions_dlg.angry}

On Saturday, Better-half's cell phone died. On Sunday morning I awoke to find my cell phone (identical model) lifeless on the kitchen counter.

The irony.

We never wanted smart phones; we were content with moderately competent phones. Yes, they were old. Yes, they were near-obsolete flip models. But they did the two things I wanted them to do: They allowed us to make a phone call, and they allowed us to receive a phone call.

Oh -- and we could stick them in our pockets and go.

Now we have two Droids. The cases alone cost more than what I wanted to pay for a phone. And a person needs some big pockets to accommodate these phones.

I have been forced to participate in the 21st century. {#emotions_dlg.mad}

Groupon gave me a credit for my CWC deals. I have no use for a credit (I rarely get Groupons) & I want my money back. I got money back once before so I see no reason why they can't do it this time. I politely requested my money rather than credit so wish me luck.

Bee, that is very strange about both your cells going like that. The good thing is that you control how you use the cells so you can do as much or as little as you like.

I hate putting my cell in my pocket. Sometimes I have to but most of the time it is in my purse when I'm away from home. At home it sits on my laptop desk or on the sofa next to me.

You know what I need and want to buy?

I want them to eat my roses' aphids!

Week 1 update:

No purchases this week (other than necessities)

Used up: 1 bar soap, 1 (1/4 oz) moisturizer,1 toner, 2 votives, 1 hotel sized conditioner sample, and 1 Marilyn Miglin Goddess dusting powder (this was at least 8 years old)!

ORC: It's going well, I've got about 1/4 of the kitchen cabinets and drawers cleaned out and polished.

BTW, for those of us that are "cleaning challenged", have any of you discovered Springcleaning365? (FB page here), or website here. I just started yesterday. I think this is going to be just what I need.

Stay strong!

The older I get, the more cleaning challenged I become. I'm just tired of cleaning. This website looks interesting. Thanks!

Paws and enjoy life.

Why do we collect so many sample products? And why don't we use them? {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Good question Bee. I love getting free samples. I remember those tiny little Avon lipsticks. Boy, I had a bunch of those. I kept them for years and years and then finally threw them out.

I'm trying to use the samples I have now. This morning, after shampooing, I used a Fekkai Shea Butter conditioner sample. It was nice, but I hated the scent. This conditioner smelled like a cheap perfumey science project. So that's one I won't be buying!

Stay strong everyone. April is almost half gone!

Part of me believes those little lipsticks were the reason we started down this path. Avon samples = gateway drug.

Think about it. Wink

Ooh, you are so right! Gateway drug! {#emotions_dlg.scared} {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

As much as I like trying new products I really don't like samples. I never use them. I seem to save them for a special occasion which never arrives.

I loved those little samples!!!

And don't forget these beauties.

I like the habit page.

I like the photo on the task page -- the one with the white blinds at the window? It reminds me of my windows. I have similar ones, with white blinds. Some differences, though. The brick outside is red at my house. And my blinds are covered with dust and dog hair. And it's kinda hard to see through my windows because they're covered with a layer of... well, dust and dog hair.

Maybe I should take a closer look at this site.

Oh, yes. The source of my downfall. No wonder I jump whenever I hear the doorbell.
