So I had my long hair colored a reddish brown with brownish highlights and low lights, and it looks really good. It was done by a new hair stylist, cause my original more affordable stylist skipped town. I don’t particularly like sitting in the salon chair for 2+ hours though. Now 4-5 weeks later, I’m starting to see some grays coming up near my scalp and would like to do a root touch up. She said she could touch up my roots at a discounted price of $60. Do you think I could put some color on my roots, like get a reddish brown over the counter dye, and touch up where I see some gray? I know a lot of women do that, they color their own hair and go to the salon every 3 months for highlights/low lights. I haven’t colored my own hair in a while so just kinda worried about matching it… do you think I could touch up the roots on my own?
