Collagen Supplement In Pill Form?

Can anyone recommend a collagen supplement that comes in pill form? With Vital Proteins’ capsule option, you have to take 6 a day. That’s unrealistic for me. I’d like to find something that only requires 2 or 3 a day. Does that exist???

@StillRachB  While I know you specifically want a pill, powder is by far the best for effectiveness.  With pills there could and usually will be dosing disparities and the collagen may not be able to be absorbed with pills so even if there were such pills they may not do what is intended because of this.  Just taking a collagen pill in most cases is worthless.  With a quality high content powder you can just add it to any drink and stir.  It doesn't effect the taste one bit and that is more realistic than taking a pill and hoping your body can absorb the collagen properly.

Not what you’re asking for but...

i was taking 6 collagen capsules daily (2 Biocell and 4 Neocell). I’ve recently changed my thinking and switched to a product called Code Age Multi Collagen Peptide Powder (Amazon). It’s super easy to use, just mix a scoop into my morning coffee.  There’s no taste and it mixes in well (no floating globs).  If you are more of a smoothie drinker than coffee, it’ll mix in a smoothie too.  I like this stuff and set it up on subscription with Amazon.

Sorry ladies....I can’t do the powder. Even though it’s “flavorless,” to me, it does indeed have a taste to it. And I can’t palate it. I have a bad gag reflex and the powder is not an option for me. Believe me, I’ve tried.

Unfortunately most protein supps, including collagen supps, require that you take large quantities of them. That's because proteins in general are large molecules...there's no way around that.

There are available liquid collagen supplements which are flavored. Neocell makes one, for example.

I get it- it DOES have a taste..it tastes kind of "leathery", i have a hard time with it too, but I have been seeing great resilts with Colla Holla- I mix it in with my oatmeal and though it sounds weird I will sometimes microwave a banana, and mix it in with that too..In a smoothie, you cannot really taste it, but  prefer to get my calories from food, not "drinks", so I rarely do that..

I wish I had an answer for you, because my results have been wonderful with this product...

@SilleeMee   Is there any science to prove that collagen supplements actually work?

@Shanus ,

Yes, there have been some scientific studies done and I found publications about them on dot gov sites. But the articles are fairly technical and most people would find them difficult to understand. Basically they state that collagen supplementation has beneficial effects on skin, that being the supp improves skin texture by making it smoother with less wrinkles. The studies I've come across are limited and so I would take that with some skepticism.
