Cold weather affect on cosmetics?

Do you worry about how this cold icy weather might affect your cosmetic product? Not on your skin, but during delivery? These items are in a cold (but not freezing) warehouse and I don't suppose that's too bad. But now long are they in delivery trucks? Or left outside? Are trucks loaded during the night, and then sit there waiting for the driver in the morning? And if I'm not home, my UPS man will leave my packages on my porch, and it could be for a couple of hours. Temps around here are in the single digits and below and I wonder how this affects the products. I can't imagine that it's doing them any good. i.e., I have DrD's TSV on the way. We are having freezing temps and have a cold now and ice storm on the horizon. This is not a cheap purchase, and I certainly would not want it to be compromised.

I would worry more if the weather was scorching hot.

Re: Cold weather affect on cosmetics?

I worry about how searing hot summer weather affects my beauty items, I don't think frigid temperatures have any affect.

Re: Cold weather affect on cosmetics?

I live in MI, and we are cold for many months! When I order skincare or cosmetics, I generally check the weather for the following week first. Single digits, I wait. 20's are fine. I also talk to the vendor when I order and ask about the specific product's temperature range. Most are fine, even if they freeze once they thaw. Some, like prescription gels, etc., I always ask before I order. If I'm very concerned, I have it shipped to work, were someone always is there to receive it, or use a friend or family member who is home during the day. I think cosmetics is better in general than skincare- which may have ingredients that loose efficacy when affected by temperature. Just my thoughts - but no matter the weather, it doesn't really stop me from getting what I want! I've only had two shipments in all these years that froze and had to be replaced because the containers exploded. So, not a bad track record!
