Belk is having their Clinique GWP and I bought a couple of things I like from the line. I bought the 7 day scrub rinse off formula and the Take the Day Off makeup remover. They were also having a makeup artist come in on various days during the event and I had a makeover last Saturday.
In the GWP was a sample of Clarifying Lotion #2 and I decided to try it. I used this when I was a teenager and felt it was a bit harsh, but my skin was oily/acne prone and it worked for me. I stopped using this once my skin was no longer acne prone. I tried the sample and it was more gentle than I remember it being. Found out it was reformulated recently. The makeup artist said I should use #3 clarifying lotion, but I wanted to see how the sample of the #2 lotion would be. I could not believe how much makeup came off on the cotton round. I had been using pure Witch Hazel as a toner and thought my skin was clean as no makeup ever came off on the cotton. This has not been drying on my skin at all and my skin actually feels really good after using.
Today, I bought the Clarifying Lotion #3 as I am more oily in the summertime. I only used this once so far and my skin was not dry after using it. I also bought the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and tried this today as well. So far, so good.
I had samples of the Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser and Turnaround Concentrate and tried those as well. I first cleansed with the Foaming Cleanser, toned with the #3 toner, used the Turnaround Concentrate and DDMG for moisture. My skin felt great.
I had previously bought and liked the Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base. After skincare, I used this for it's SPF and then used a sample of their Stay Matte Liquid Foundation and the finish was great. I'm going to use this routine tomorrow and see how everything holds up during a day at an amusement park and concert tomorrow night. I hope this continues to work well for me as Clinique is much less expensive than other lines I've tried. So far, it's been almost 3 hours and no shine, which is good for me. I usually get shine within a couple of hours. I set the Stay Matte foundation with pressed Mineral Veil to also add more sunscreen. Anyone else go back to Clinique after trying different skincare and makeup lines?
