"When someone says, 'Nice lipstick,' you can tell pretty quickly if they mean it or if they're actually just making fun of you. Unfortunately, we're all too familiar with the snide undertones of a fake compliment. We're not sure what it is about vibrant makeup that people feel free to mock, but it's a thing. So, we were really excited to watch this video on xoVain that answers the question, 'How can I handle rude comments about my makeup?'"

I just noticed this sentence, and have to say that I'm not at all familiar "with the snide undertones of a fake compliment".

Have I dealt with rude people? Sure. Is everyone always kind? Of course not. Have I been criticized? Absolutely. But I'm pretty sure that most people are actually not all that familiar with fake compliments. I don't even understand the concept - Why would anyone bother to give a fake compliment? And why would the recipient care or do anything other than ignore it? I honestly don't think this is a prevalent problem.

Reading thru the responses makes it pretty clear that I'm not the only one who feels that way. Kiss
