Off subject, but brings me to another issue about people's comments. I have ongoing mobility issues. Have and use a scooter and/or walker, and often use the scooters in stores. Have permanent handicapped plates on my vehicles. Some days, I get around just fine when first parking at a store, but before finishing shopping, I have to get a scooter to check out and get to car.
One day, late in the day after doing a lot of walking, I had one more stop for milk (always at the back of the store). It was scooter time. I parked in a handicapped spot. Got out, got my cane. A person (I couldn't call her a lady) said to me: 'why are you in a handicapped spot? You don't appear to be handicapped'. I had my pat answer to that all ready: 'and YOU don't appear to be an a*ssho*e, but looks can sure be deceiving, can't they'.
Not very nice, but oh so perfect a response!
Daisy, I think your responses were P-E-R-F-E-C-T, and I loved them!!!

People do not need to comment at all if they do not like your makeup. It is NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS!!! For one. For two, makeup does not only have one use, *to enhance one's natural beauty** Oh pleeeze give me a break. If someone wants to wear smokey eyes, that is clearly going to be seen. If someone likes thick mascara, so what. The use of makeup does not need to fit into YOUR PERSONAL OPINION. It is there for all to use how THEY want and it is none of your business. Just because it may not fit into YOUR idea of what it SHOULD look like, it does not make it wrong. Pleeze.

They want to know what the colors are, or how I do it, or if I'm a professional. There is nothing wrong with dramatic make-up if it's done right. The "bare/natural" look isn't for everyone, it's a "style" like everything else.I suspect there's a fine line between dramatic and drag queen.
lol, very funny comment,ennui!

I can relate. Years ago I had a handicapped placard while recuperating from extensive surgery that required I be on crutches. Went out with DH driving. When he got out of the car this guy started yelling at him that he didn't look handicapped. Then as he helped me out of the car, the guy apologized. My Mom was there and gave this guy a piece of her mind. Hang in there and have your responses ready.

Oh I see.. the ugly appearance comment is not OK, but calling someone an a$$hole is? Another who thinks they are above others. And btw...you have no business telling anyone how much eye makeup to wear. MYOB. UH, you stuck up snobs make me puke.

I'm glad you saw that, as well. Two Wrongs never make a Right...no matter how you spin it.

Of course we can all wear as much make up as we want but don't we wear it because we feel we look better with it and enjoy it? That's why I wear it. With that being said, if someone made a comment about my lipstick (and it did happen to me a few years ago while at a house party) I knew it was a negative comment so I immediately said "oh, I just put some one without looking in the mirror!!! did I overdo it?" Thats what it was - and two grown men in their 50's said it. I would prefer to be told -hurt feelings or not. If people notice my makeup instead of my overall appearance then I'm doing something wrong and need to make some changes.

I love her. Who is she???

I can only think of two people who have ever made rude makeup comments to me.
One was a relative who feels obligated to make negative comments about me. The other was in a professional business situation. The remark was extremely inappropriate. I did not acknowledge either comment at all.
