Inspired by another poster who recently went through her beauty stash, I decided to clean out the closet that houses my assortment of broken dreams and unfulfilled promises. I had an embarrassing amount of stuff. I used multiple garbage bags due to the weight of the bottles and jars.

I wish I could have donated it, but most of it was used and some of it probably dated to the Pleistocene Epoch.

What's worse is there is still one set of shelves that I can't get to without moving others out of the way. I didn't feel up to doing that, and I didn't want the trash collection guys to throw their backs out handling my stuff. Might lead to litigation. LOL

I don't know how I accumulated so much stuff or why I didn't throw out items that I knew I didn't like. Did I really think the lipstick I didn't like might in five years be just what I was looking for??? Or that the eye cream that didn't work might be magically transformed if only it were allowed to age properly in a cool, dark environment???

Never again. I am going to be more careful of what I buy, and if I don't like it, I will throw it out. That's my 2012 resolution. Thanks for letting me vent.
