Happy New Year Everyone-
It is time for me to give in and start using a chin/neck cream and after looking at all of them out there I have no idea which one to try. My chin is starting to sag and both my chin and neck needs firming up; any suggestions on creams/serums that actually work? I don't want to waste money on products that won't do anything which I have in the past for other areas. I appreciate any help/feedback/assistance you can give me. I want to like the way I look in a turtleneck again if you know what I mean!

Creams and serums cannot correct sagging skin that is actually caused by relaxed or aging muscle. Only surgery can do that. No matter what the claims are. But I think creams that claim to ""firm"" may help with temporary skin firming. Keeping the skin moisturized I think lessens the appearance of wrinkling too. Good luck to you!

Some lines on the neck are hereditary... and sagging as well. Young girls will have lines on their necks that you would only think to see on older woman. Some of it may not be helped as far a sagging without surgery.... I started taking care of my neck back in my thirties.. now 58 I have a nice smooth lineless neck. I also remember my Mother having good skin and a nice neck as she aged... so I have some genetics playing here.... I have and do stay out of the sun and always wear sunscreen 365 days a year. I apply neck creams three times a day, along with serums and other skin care. My favorite neck cream is DR. Denese triple strength neck cream. I also have been using Strivectin's neck cream. I hope this helps your decision on what you can do, as I do not know your age.

gazelle77 thank you for this information. I am 49 and overall I have very good skin and very little wrinkles and I want to keep it that way (if you know what I mean); this is the reason I want to start on a chin/neck regiment now before it becomes a real issue. I want to stop a turkey neck if I can.
Thank you also endapysch- I appreciate your feedback and am moisturizing. As both of you said part of it is hereditary and thank goodness my mom has good skin at 68; I don't know what my grandmother's skin would have been like as they both died young but my mom is aging well.

It is never too late or too early to start good skin care! Good for you to being proactive

Completely agree with ednapsych--there is nothing topical that will restore sagging. Loose skin on the neck looks so much better when it's moisturized, though. It doesn't matter much what you use, it doesn't need to be a neck cream (they are the same as moisturizers anyhow). Put your cream on both night and day--it really 'helps with the appearance' as they say on T.V.!

I agree with your regimen completely. I believe in taking care of my neck and have been doing so for many years. I am also 58 and I have been wearing sunscreen every single for years, no matter what, and I apply cream to my neck several times a day. I am a fanatic about using creams on my neck.
Alas, my neck and chin are going south anyway and I think that is due to another factor you mentioned...genetics.
However, I just keep doing what I am doing. I keep asking myself how much worse it might look if I had done nothing at all?? ![]()
It's very depressing though. In addition to the skin itself, there are underlying muscles and tendons that are aging and creams won't do anything about that. I believe topicals can only do so much if the neck is a problem and one of these days, I'm going to do something "more" about it.
Take care, Becki

I've used Perricone Sub-D for two years, and this has definitely firmed my chin and under chin area which is what I need. I do apply both morning and night. My neck is still quite firm and without any lines to speak of yet so not as concerned with that although I apply Sub-D on it as well. I know it is expensive, but it is worth it to me.
