Has anybody used castor oil for brow growth or health?  Any results --- good or bad?

I have read that it's supposed to help.  My brows are patchy and miserable and am looking for something natural to use.

I don't want any chemicals, since I have sensitive skin.

I am afraid to use this also because it seems very greasy and I worry about breaking out or a reaction from it also.

Also, application --- I would assume that you would just use a tiny bit and maybe apply it with a Q-Tip???  If so, would you use it at night --- or during the day if you are just staying at home --- or what?

Thank you for posting!

Re: Castor Oil -- for brows

[ Edited ]

I tried it for lash growth, nothing happened.  I now use the VieBeauty lash serum and getting excellent results.  I apply morning and night.

If you decide to try the oil anyway, watch out that you don't get the oil in your eye.  It will cloud your vision and be bothersome.  For application, you can clean an old mascara wand or a small eyeliner brush.  I think a cotton swab could possibly hold too much product, which could potentially drip, and you could end up wasting a lot in the long run. As with everything, consistency is key. Randomly using it, just when you're home, won't do a thing.  Make it part of your PM routine every night and add in the mornings as you are able.

Yes, I used for a year.   I used an old mascara brush to apply every morning and night.  Nothing happened, no new hair  growth.  I gave up!

Try it, it wont hurt to give it a go.  Good Luck!

i use it everyday, during the day only. i apply with either a mascara wand or eyeliner brush. it has actually helped fill in the sparse areas. don't apply too much as it will drip into your eyes.

@AngelPuppy1   you could use a nonfluffy q-tip or a clean mascara wand or small eyeshadow applicator.

i got a set of empty mascara tubes from Amazon and i filled them w the castor oil.  (do not overfill as the wand will displace the product in tube)

the Castor oil is extremely thick so you need control it otherwise it will drip all over. My oil is cold-pressed , no irritation.

i gave up on chemical lash enhancers for several reasons.

@AngelPuppy1   i, too, tried the castor oil and NADA. Nothing! I had ordered a kit with brushes, etc. from Amazon, but it was only around $8 so I don't feel cheated.

I will try the Vie because I have one brow that is really sparse. Chemo took away all my hair

Re: Castor Oil -- for brows

[ Edited ]

For me castor oil was an oily, greasy mess which ended up on my pillowcases anyway so I quit using it. Did nothing. Then I started using Isomers Copper Peptide Serum on my brows and lashes which did help them some but it took a long time. Just so you know copper peptides are vasodilators which means they open up blood vessels and, in this case, ones feeding the hair follicles. Copper peptides act much like minoxidil in that regard and so much so that CPs are used in some hair-growth stimulating products such as shampoos, conditioners and scalp treatments...all otc. I discovered the hair-growth boosting effects of CPs when I noticed the peach fuzz on my face was getting thicker...ugh!

Currently I'm using Careprost (generic Latisse) on my brows and lashes with very good results.

Thanks a lot for replying and stating your experiences.  I am still on the fence.  I sure don't need to worry about getting any problems with my eyes, as I have enough issues in that department.  I haven't gone to get my brows done in quite a while as I was not really happy with the results.  But in their defense, I just have wonky brows -- and there is only so much you can do with them!
