Re: Can We Get Cheeky? ......And Lippy?

Irishrose, good to hear re: LG: "You can start slowly with the color and build to whatever level of intensity you wish", that's what I need to be able to do. Thank you for the Photos!

re: JM, Thank you for describing the Island Pink. Also, for the TIPS! on how you work with your blush, finishing powder & gelee to get a 'fresh flushed looked' that is what I am aiming for! I am assuming yur using for the most part, the LG blush, which finishing powder?, then the gelee. I ask because I would like to try this method. :-) Thank you!!!

P.S. somehow I missed yur 2nd post. Yes, I have been looking at different sites - it's taken me this long if yu can believe it to sign up w/Sephora {#emotions_dlg.confused1} w/all the info. the ladies share re: Sephora don't know the reason it took me so long! Will be doing the same w/Ulta. T.Y. - I learned on this forum that Hautelook has specials on cosmetics, too - going to keep an eye there, too. :-)

Re: Can We Get Cheeky? ......And Lippy?

Hi,

Another vote for LG's pink buttercream powder blush. It's a pretty pink/peach that suits my fair to light, 52 year old skin. It has some shimmer which I normally avoid but I like it in this blush, gives my cheekbones a little extra glow but not too much and doesn't seem amplify flaws. That being said, this is heavily pigmented and I do have to be careful to use a very small amount on my brush (if I've used a liquid or cream foundation under it, it works best to first lightly apply a finishing powder, that way the color transfers easily). I got this in a mini version in one of her travel kits (sold on the Q). It's tiny but will last forever. Let us know what you try, like, don't like (as a fellow makeup junky, I am interested in your blush journeyWink)

My favorite blushes are the cream formulas from Laura Mercier and Chanel.

As to the lip lines you asked about. The only thing that will truly help them are injections like Juvederm etc. I get injections just along the lip line about every 18 months.

Re: Can We Get Cheeky? ......And Lippy?

I have dry skin and can't wear a powder blush. I tried on a whim, IT lip/cheek stain duo and I love them. This is the first lip stain that really really lasts for me, is still on when I get up the next day. It is anti aging and moisturizing and yes it is. It is very natural on both lips and cheeks. It is also very soft looking, doesn't shout out which I like. I got the duo that has 2 colors in and while I like both I prefer the one in the red tube(thick round fat tubes) so will reorder the duo that comes with 2 of that same color next time.

The only powder thing I can wear is LG plum like it hot baked shadow liner which I use for liner, love this for an eye liner.

soonersis, thank you for taking the time to help! Very detailed & helpful! Just a few questions: the Catalina (mauvy pink) does it show on the lighter side or does the mauvy make it appear darker? Sugar Free Raspberry - is that a darker pink? Thanks so much!

I will check out Makeup Alley, too. That's new to me. Many thanks for your time!

I think the Catalina is on the lighter side. It's one of her monochromatic blushes so doesn't have the swirls of colors as some of her other blushes do.

Irishrose gave a very good description of the Sugar Free Raspberry, and I also agree with griffy about the Pink Buttercream.

I have a habit of forgetting that I have the pink buttercream. And, as you said, it is such a nice light blush. I put it to the front of my LG blushes so I'll remember to use it more. Kiss

Have you tried any of the lip products from Skinn? I haven't used them but a lot of women rave about the collagenisis lip serum. I think he also has a lip line fill product to help your lines look less visible.

My HG (Holy Grail) finishing powder is MAKEUP FOREVER HD Invisible Finishing Powder (available at Sephora). One container lasted me close to a year because a little goes a LONG way. It looks white in the container - loose powder - but it becomes invisible once applied. Any skin tone can use it.

I buff it on with a kabuki brush and get an absolutely flawless airbrushed effect. It is talc free so it doesn't settle in any fine lines or wrinkles.

Re: Can We Get Cheeky? ......And Lippy?

Just want to say love the subject line! I lived in the UK so LOL'd {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

I've scanned the responses, love Laura Geller blushes! Never sparkly IMO they just give a healthy glow! My favs are Sunswept (bronzy pinky mauve w glow), Tropic Hues (bronzy peach w glow), and Dreamsicle (pinky peach no glow). Wow that took a lot, because actually I love all of her blushes so picking favorites is hard, but those are the ones I use all the time.

Someone else mentioned the Skinn product and that is the only one I know of and also own, but don't have those lines so can't comment on effectiveness. It's the Lip Stem Rejen. He's on ShopHQ tomorrow with likely some good kits at discounted prices if you want to try.
