I love my Clarisonic and use it nightly AFTER I cleanse to remove makeup. If you watch the models’ demos, they’re grinding the makeup into their pores by using the Clarisonic first.

The idea is to clean out your pores, not push more dirt into them.

Your thoughts?

Re: CLARISONIC...PLEASE DO NOT

I agree.  I iuse mine twice a day.  In the morning, directly on  my face since there is no makeup on .  However, at night, i first remove all my makeup and then use my clarisonic.

I also make sure that I clean the brush and towel dry before charging.  Every week, I try to clean under the brush with alcohol.

Re: CLARISONIC...PLEASE DO NOT

I've also had to stop using the Clairisonic, I've had two of them, one for home use and another for travel. Sad to say both are now in my no longer used drawer. As you mentioned and if you have large pores it pushes the dirt and makeup in further.

My skin was breaking out and since I've stopped using it, all is well.

Now, I use Cetaphil gentle cleanser and a very lush soft cotton cloth to cleanse my skin, with luke warm water.

@Alsace Gal. I’m fairly sure the Clarisonic can’t push dirt into pores if your face is clean. I’d try using different cleansers to be sure your skin is super clean before using Clarisonic.

BTW, if your skin isn’t properly cleansed, even a wash cloth can push dirt into enlarged pores. Those enlarged pores are also an issue to address.

Re: CLARISONIC...PLEASE DO NOT

For my nighttime makeup removal/face cleansing, I always use a product such as Clinique's Take The Day Off makeup remover or DHC Olive Cleansing Oil before moving to step 2 using the Clarisonic with a bit of a cleanser such as Purity or CeraVe on the brush.   After more than ten years of using a Clarisonic this has been an effective method for me.  I never use the Clarisonic for morning cleansing because that is when I often use scrubs and masks.

Re: CLARISONIC...PLEASE DO NOT

Well, yes they can, and I do clean my face properly. Many of us have large pores, it happens quite frequently as one get older and after years of using make up and beauty products.

Re: CLARISONIC...PLEASE DO NOT

I always remove my make-up before using my Clarisonic, always.

In addition, I never use it on my lips.  Lisa, the vendor for Clarisonic, kept mentioning this morning that you should (not just "can" but should) use it on your lips as well.  It was the first time I heard that in all the many presentations over the years.  I think the proliferation of lip scrubs  in the market recently is making vendors say anything for a sale.

You need to use the right brush, too.

The brush that came with my Clairsonic wasn't the best choice for my skin.

@fourpaws56  If your skin can tolerate it, it sounds like you need a chemical exfoliant like PTR acid peel pads or Kate Somerville Exfollikate. There are many others that clean out pores, as well. Unfortunately, it’s trial and error. I’m not a fan of anything Philosophy.
