@goldensrbest Yes, it is easy for almost everyone. My several days slower recovery is because of having anesthesia...and the drops are a PIA.

Everyone should follow their own doctor's instructions but there is apparently quite a difference in what doctors prescribe.  My doctor also specializes in cataract surgery.  I could wear eye makeup after a week, my drops were twice a day.  I had to squat down, instead of bend over, to take care of my dog because there was no one else to do it.  I had no problems with either eye.  All of it was easier than I expected.

@KittySoftPaws   I had cataract surgery done a week apart.

@Shanus If it were me I would have waited to have this done over the winter not during the holidays if possible.

It's just so gray and dreary here in the winter I would be fine with not going anywhere and staying home with a good book.

Hope you are healing up well and the three weeks will go by fast!  It will be New Years and a new beginning with your sight!

@PamfromCT   Oh Pam, such kind words. I'm so sorry you had such a bad fall and like you DH being home, mine stayed home w/ me Thursday through the weekend. I felt like a queen being waited on.

I didn't mean to scare anyone out of cataract surgery. Doc said my recovery was a little longer because I was put to sleep....thankfully not permenatly. Lol. I'm such a wimp and even get nitrous at the dentist.

Have a wonderful holiday if you don't touch base before then. Heart

@haddon9   If you knew my DH, you'd get the plan to get it done before the end of the year since covered by insurance and Jan. would have the deductible. Lol

@D Kay   My instructions included not lifting anything over 10 lbs. I guess laundry, Molly, etc.

@Puggywuggy   My weird eyes always stay dilated, barely any green visible until Sat. That happens even with a routine eye exam. It contributed to my having been a bit dizzy and not being able to get used to the drugstore readers. My RX for regular glasses (clear w/ no distance on top & my reading RX on the bottom).

When I was young and only needed reading glasses and then sunglasses in the car that I'd have to get to go walking...changing back and forth and don't forget having to snake them under my hearing aids. For years I've had my glasses turn darker in sunlight...only one pair and no switching.

I am so sorry that you are having so many issues with your surgery, I was a lucky one with no complications. But I then had another issue that came about caused by a fall that went from bad to worse and caused a retina issue that I am still doctoring with 3 years later in one eye. So I understand and hope that things go well for you from here on. Please take good care.
