Seems a bit bizarre to sell makeup inspired by a dead woman.

Given how long she has been a makeup artist, it might have been she who embraced the look long before it was popular.

Caroline Bessette had a look that didn’t need effort. Minimal makeup, clean lines, and that perfect red lip, simple, modern, and stunning.

A true beauty.

@LizzieInSRQ  RMS is Rose-Marie Swift  a make up artist and has a makeup line called RMS BEAUTY ( although I think she sold the company)

RMS Beauty was acquired by private equity firm Highlander Partners in late 2021, marking a significant shift as founder Rose-Marie Swift sold a majority stake but stayed on as Creative Director.

My mom and two aunts had fabulous skin, wore red lips and minimal makeup in the 60's.  I have the most beautiful picture of them at Christmas, many years ago now.

i like the look!

Her "style" was influenced by her employer, Calvin Klein. The minimalist look was after years of big puffy coats, fur, heavy makeup, big hair and over consumption in the 80's. Her aesthetic was very much how Calvin wanted his employees to look.

I think the look resonates with younger women because they weren't alive to live through it... Been there done that and myself being nearly 73, find my red lipstick 💄 days are in the rear window.

I remember living in both the LA and NYC area back then and wearing a dark/bright lip and little else. Today, I still do the same except I add some bronzer, but no foundation, concealer, eye shadow, liner, or mascara. It looks really fresh, especially since the advent of all that contour-yuck.

@Shanus I thought CBK's minimalist look epitomized class   and adopted the same look for myself years ago. My mom also taught me that less is more.

I have a light skin tone and apply very little makeup to my almond shaped eyes (no liner, one shade of shadow lash to crease only and soft lashes). I emphasize my lips with either a deep rosy pink, mauve or deep berry lipstick.

I think CBK was a beauty but not in the classic sense. I wonder what she would look like now had she lived.

@LuvSoCal   I think her style would have continued pretty much the same. It seemed the women in the Kennedy family were quite smartly dressed and minimal makeup.

CBK was not a "classic beauty", but her look was outstanding IMHO.
