Brow Architect Exploded!

I love the Tarte Journey to Natural Beauty TSV and have been using it for almost a week. This morning when I tried to open the Brow Architect it exploded in all directions. There is a spring in one of the 3 sections. I found all of the pieces except the brush thing. I called QVC customer service and asked if I could return just the brow architect and they said no. I have to return the whole kit for an exchange. (And they aren't showing Light on the website now so don't know if they have my color in stock.) This is not making me happy because I don't want to stop using the other pieces while I wait for the exchange. And I don't really want to keep the brow pencil if it's broken. Has this happened to anybody else? Any suggestions?
