Hi @ninjawife ,
This is a good product by Vaseline. It's very moisturizing. I have eczema and psoriasis on my arms and legs.
It's called Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Unscented Lotion.
It does contain petrolatum, glycerin, and shea butter, to name some of the ingredients in it. It does soak into your skin.
It does not contain any lanolin. I tend to avoid lanolin as well, because wool makes me itchy.

@ninjawife Josie Maran body butter had been my go to for ten years, I've tried others during that time to compare & they didn't work as well for me.

Dr Teals or EOS. I get at Walmart but I have seen them at TJMaxx too. Both cruelty free and in a variety of scents.

@ninjawife I have tried lots of lotions and creams over the years as I'm sure most people have who have posted on your thread. Lotions and creams are such an individual preference! Personally, I don't like thick lotions or creams. I'll put them on at night, and the next morning, I don't feel like I have moisturized at all. The most recent one I tried like this was Gold Bond Age Renew Retinol. I'm a huge fan of Gold Bond products (especially their neck cream), but most of their lotions are thick, and they just don't work well on my skin.
However, I do have two recommendations for you. Neither contain lanolin. The first is Curel Ultra Healing Lotion. It doesn't get a lot of press or attention, but it has been around for a long time. My mom had notoriously dry skin her whole life, and this was her favorite lotion. I bought it for her religiously when she was in assisted living. Meanwhile, I'm trying lotion after lotion trying to find something I liked. I mean, what did Mom know, right? Well, one day while at her facility, I used her lotion on my legs as they were looking particularly dry, and voila! Who knew? Mom was on to something. It has ceramides and oat extract, which are both phenomenal ingredients. Once in a while, I'll stray from it thinking there "may" be something better out there, but for me, there's not. Like I said, I most recently tried the Age Renew Retinol lotion and last summer, I tried the Alpha Hydroxy lotion. Now I am back to the Curel and couldn't be happier. Plus, it is budget friendly. The big 20-ounce bottle cost around $10.
The next recommendation I found on a video by Dr. Dray. It is Gold Bond Ultimate Eczema Relief. It, too, contains ceramides and oat extract. I buy the Walmart Equate version called Eczema Relief to save money, and it is just as good. I do not have eczema, but it might work really well for you because the label says it relieves itchiness, dryness, scaling/peeling, roughness, and redness/irritation, It does not contain lanolin. It is a thin cream. Last I checked, though, it only comes in an 8-ounce tube, so I buy the Curel to use on my body as it is more economical.
But let me tell you how I use the Equate Eczema Relief. It is the most amazing hand cream ever! It absorbs so quickly, and I mean truly absorbs. I've never seen anything like it. Your hands just feel soft--not greasy or sticky. You can even use a tablet or phone within a minute or two of using it. Now, it *will* leave a slight film on your screen but nothing like any other lotion would do. I even use it on my lips. After a minute or two, my lips just feel soft. I keep a tube by my chair and use it on my hands and lips at night while watching TV or reading.
I really think one (or both) of these products would work well for you. And if you didn't like them? They can be returned to most stores.

I just came back to let OP know that all the products I'm currently using do NOT contain Lanolin. That's Gold Bond Radiance Renewal, Amlactin, and Nutrius.
The Amlactin and Nutrius I get at Costco.

@Trix wrote:If you don't mind a higher price point, I love Perlier Shea Butter body creams (from HSN) on my dry ashy skin. I also get great results from Osea's Undaria Algae Body Oil. Don't be turned off by oil. This is what may be called a dry oil as it has a short dry time and does not rub off on your underwear and clothes. If I can't sell you on using an oil, Osea has a fabulous body butter. Eu'Genia Shea has a wonderful shea butter. You would probably prefer the creamy version called Everyday Strength. Her products are sold at QVC. I discovered this brand through a presentation on QVC.
If price is a concern, Bath and Body Works and The Body Shop have some good moderately priced lotions and creams.
I also have good luck with some of the luxury body creams that team with my perfumes but those are very expensive.
I love that you have mentioned Osea! I love this company. You are correct their Undaria body oil is fabulous!
