Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful Kit OR A Mally Color kit?

I want to get a nice kit for my very best GF - she cannot afford to get a lot of things for herself so since she has had an extra tough year I wanted to get her something special for herself.

She is my age, just about 40.... Med skin toned.

Just not sure which is a better go, Bobbi or Mally. I use a mix of Tarte and BE right now and actually really wanted to try some Bobbi Brown items but just haven't done so yet.

I do like the Mally mascara but haven't had the best luck with her other things, usually to orange on me and lips to light....
