Your link didn't work. But both BB and EL have similar wording on their FAQs page regarding animal testing. Here is BB's:
Does your company test on animals?
We do not conduct animal testing on our products or ingredients, nor ask others to test on our behalf, except when required by law.
Bobbi Brown is committed to the elimination of animal testing. We are equally committed to consumer health and safety, and bringing to market products that comply with applicable regulations in every country in which our products are sold.

Yes, meaning they still test. Being committed to eliminating it does NOT mean that they have stopped yet. If you do further research, you will see that they still test. They both sell to China so yes, they test.
It is unfortunate.

Right. That was the intent of my post. It's funny, but I somehow inadvertently bolded the wrong portions of their answer. I have since edited my post, so you can see that I was emphasizing the portions that mean that they do still test.

I might do this too! Just received the light tint. Will go light/med for my summer wear.
I put this balm on one half of my face. Asked my girls and husband independently which side looked better and they all picked the balm side. My JM gelee should look great with this.

I ordered the BB cream with SPF 35 since it had such good reviews on this site and theirs. I also order the cheeks/lip pot rouge and the eyeliner pencil. I've tried her gel eyeliners and didn't like them.

oh okay! Yeah, I guess I was confused about what you had bolded and what you didn't. What you bolded is often what most people "hear" and they ignore or don't "hear" the rest. I really find it frustrating that so many companies aren't forthright with their information and use many slight of hand phrases. If you stand behind your company and their practices, then admit it and move on but playing word games with consumers is disingenuous and makes me question their ethics as a company. But why I think most companies have ethics is beyond me.
lol!
