I am blow dry challenged! I've been growing layers out for a while, and last night got a slightly below chin length bob, but not the kind that's much shorter in the back. It's pretty much all one length except a little shorter in the front and with bangs about eye length to side sweep.
Any tips? Thank you. ![]()

The best tip I ever got about blow drying was to make sure your hair is about 85-90% dry before you start doing the brush work. Then be sure to work in sections. I have long hair, so I start with the bottom and work my way up. You could probably do the same--pin the upper section of your hair on top of your head, complete the bottom section, take more hair down, do the brush work on that, repeat until all hair has been dried.

I have a bob and that is exactly what I do.

@PilatesLover I’ve always had a short pixie and grew out my layers as well. I purchased an heated brush with lg. barrel...not the type that also blows dry. After my hair is dry, I go through w/ the brush and pull the layers straight and under. I purchased mine at ULTA...purple silicone teeth that are comfortable on the scalp...$49.99...Hot Tools.

I have a very short bob and my stylist taught me to partially blow dry before I use the brush. I only use the round brush around the neck line. She taught me to use a flat paddle brush and then use a round heated brush to smooth it out and get a little volume and curl. I use the Perfector.

I often wear my hair in that style....my hair is like that now. I am a hair stylist, retired.
I bend over and dry my hair with the dryer and my hands concentrating on the roots so I get lift. When my root area is dry and the ends are just slightly damp, I stand up and use the brush and blower to gently turn the ends under and dry them completely starting in the nape area.
If you have super wavy or curly hair, this won't work for you, but it is great on straight hair and gives you a great lift and adds fullness.
I know how to use a brush and dryer like a pro, but why bother when this easy method works as well or better?

I am also challenged with the blow drying and brush at the same time "thing". I have to do it in two steps. What works for me is to start by blow drying my hair flipped over from the back over the front.. Then once that is semi dry I flip it back and dry the top and the sides. I comb it our and use my flat iron or hot rollers. I don't use high settings on any of these appliances. I have fine hair so those suggested settings just fry my hair. This is what works for me.

I blow my hair using just my fingers first to get it about half done, then use a tool similar to this. I can use the bigger brush on top and the smaller one on the side. I have a hard time with a brush in one hand and a blower in the other.
My hair was made for a bob, I don't have to do much to make it look right.

I wear a Bob, slightly stacked in the back, with bangs. My hair is poker straight. I dry my hair, then use velcro rollers. (much easier and less time consuming) The cut is most important. My hair falls into place no matter how I sleep on it or how much the wind blows.
